Recent discovery, a rare listener supported radio station that streams excellent laid back jazz : http://www.jazzgroove.org Available on Sonos via Tune in. For the genre, as good as a similarly supported Radio Paradise. :@I have erred in the thread title and don't know how to correct the last word to Groove.
Hey guys, I was on Facebook today and came across a pretty cool gizmo name Darlite. They have a Kickstarter page. In a nutshell, it's a little device that allows you to play any type of music .https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/darlite/darlite-the-limitless-sonos-experience?ref=3n1r7h That is their Kickstarter page. My question is do you think Sonos will be coming out with this feature anytime soon. I could do without the lights that Darlight has. I just want to be able to play anything that is on my phone via my Sonos Speakers.
I created a video on how to setup voice control using Amazon Echo/Alexa with Logitech Harmony and I just want to share it. I am still waiting for Sonos to release the new firmware to allow direct integration with Amazon Echo. https://youtu.be/zz7c6VxczPI
Over One Year
My cats like to play with boxes. So naturally they wanted to get into a Play 1 box. However the box is too small! https://youtu.be/mSnA0ZTkqaw Please consider making the Play 1 box bigger. For the sake of my cats!
As recent posts have been touching upon, in regards to Apple's WWDC this year, I am worried about being left behind. With the current marketing and branding techniques, Sonos feels like a user friendly and harmonious ecosystem such as Apple. There is even a specific page on the Sonos website dedicated to the Apple Music service. Myself, being an AVID Apple user since the beginning, was hoping these were signs that Sonos and Apple would become harmonious. I chose Sonos over Bose because I believe in their approach to audio consumption for my household. But Sonos needs to recognize that without the BIGGEST pioneer of music distribution, they will fail. They will lose their customer base. For God's sake.. Please tell me there will be some good news in the wake of the massive diss Apple made towards Sonos on that stage this past Monday. Please tell me I didn't spend thousands of dollars and my pride on a speaker company that will try to compete with a company that a majority of their co
I don't have any particular insight to offer hence my question. If you understand the dynamics at play, please post up. The people I polled replied with arguments ranging from SONOS are not interested in being acquired to Apple don't need SONOS. The recent WWDC obviously revived this curiosity of mine.
Is this a wake up call to Sonos? read the article here https://9to5mac.com/2017/06/19/amazon-echo-sonos-google-home-wifi-smart-speaker-sales-apple-homepod/
Okay, so I am a newbie. I bought this system - 2 Play 1's and a subwoofer for my main living room. My intention is/was to listen to new music and my own iTunes library in good fidelity. The immediate result is this - I can't play my iTunes library because of the error 1002 aggravation that seems to be bothering a lot of you out there and I can't get the Amazon streaming to finish playing one darn song. Yes, yes, I have read all the threads on correcting this. But I am not that sauve or knowledgeable enough to fix it myself. So here's what I'm going to do. I am having the guys come over from where I bought and I will pay them to get this working right. And if they can't, I will return this and find a system that will do what I want it to do. I'm retired and have enough money to get what I want.
1. HomePod: I think after Apple's announcement today, Sonos might feel more pressure to push the Alexa integration for release. I hope Sonos figures this out soon. 2. AirPlay 2.0 AirPlay 2.0 is a direct Sonos competitor, although I am not sure how well it will work, at least right off the bat. For example, without a 'bridge' or 'boost', I am not sure how smooth AirPlay 2.0 would work in big houses. and would AirPlay transmit whatever sound from my phone (ringtone, youtube video, etc.)? Overall I don't think most potential Sonos customers would go for HomePod instead. It doesn't offer a full home theater solution, and it's expensive (for the price of one, you can get two Play 1s right now with the promotion, and stereo sounds so much better). If Sonos can announce Alexa support soon, it would be a no-brainer for anybody in the market (an echo dot is only $40).
Hi everyone, I've been a Sonos user since 2008 and currently own: 2x Play:5 1x Play:3 1x PlayBar 1x BRIDGE I've also owned connects etc., which I retired as I didn't need them any more. My typical use for Sonos is to listen to music - what a surprise. I utilize Deezer and a few internet stations. I usually select one of the following options: - a certain artist (an album) and then whilst listening add other ones to the queue - my Deezer favorites and let Deezer do the work - use Deezer to provide random music - use a radio station and let it play Of course I use my PlayBar to watch TV, at which point I don't use the controller at all since it works flawlessly and without intervention other than the TV remote. I own an Echo dot and tried it at the beginning and don't find any use for it, noting that I don't have any home automation installed - so it is now sitting unused. The only place where I currently see use for voice control is inside the car. I use it every d
Just wondering which artists are part of the store display demo units?
Here's an interesting article with some information on the Echo (and further) integration(s). OK, so, it won't let me post the link. Look for "The Verge" and "Patrick Spence". The article title is "How Sonos will take on Alexa and Google: by integrating them".
What shop sells Sonos and accepts Love2Shop vouchers?
I bought sonos many years ago and grew my system by adding more items to find that I was being left behind by other systems. The list of things that I can't do just grew and grew too. Till now I've another product that does almost everything. By the way, I tried to talk to sonos many times The things Sonos say they can do and don't allows me to stand at a sonos sales point listening to a sales person describe the system to a potential client and contradict almost everything they say. The salesman says. 1.You can play your music at any time. I say no! Only if you have an internet connection. How often do you not have the internet? Well, ever time you don't your speakers are useless. They say you can get around this. Yes you can, I'll take you half and hour on the phone if you can get through to someone that knows what he's doing. 2. Also if you take your Sonos to your friends you must get into his internet. That'll take a reset. Can you find out how to do that without spending
Anybody else done the survey? I thought it was really thorough, one of the best thought-out ones I have every done. Lots of insightful questions into what sonos users would like to see happen in the future. Several options to state you own chromecasts, and then request intergration, which would enable bbc iplayer being cast to sonos 🆒
At first it was amazing, now not so much.
Better sound, supposedly. Doubt it will still perform anywhere near as well as a Play:1. The (touch?) screen will make it useful on a nightstand or in the kitchen.
Every time I go into the forum I find I'm logged out. Entering my password gives the message that my password is incorrect, but when I enter it, it logs me in. I've tried the reset password option but still it's not recognized when I first go to the forum. Deleting it and entering it again works. Help please!
http://gizmodo.com/urbanears-should-stick-to-headphones-because-its-wi-fi-1794470489 Lol. Typical "Sonos killer".
I'd really like to watch that samurai-looking film from one of the playbase commercials with my playbase when it gets here. Does anyone know what it's called?
Hello, My parents have the Sonos Play 1 in their home and love it. I was considering getting them the Amazon Echo or Amazon Echo Dot to pair with their Sonos system. However, it is unclear from product reviews if the Sonos Play 1 can pair with these Amazon products. My hope is that if they can pair, my parents can talk to the Echo and control the Sonos system. Could anyone confirm if this is or isn't possible? Thank you!
One name I know from my audiophile days, for excellent if power hungry and expensive speakers, is Dynaudio. I just came across their wireless offering that looks to me to be the first Sonos like solution by a legacy firm, admittedly at much higher price points. Multiples higher, most likely. Their streaming core unit happens to also be called Connect:) See this for more:http://www.dynaudio.com/home-audio/focus-xd#features At first reading, it looks like a Sonos contender in full traditional HiFi attire, including wireless floor standing active speakers. It would be interesting to see a comparison of a 5 pair compared to their starting speaker offering, an active stand mounted model.
Does this forum have terms of service guiding what sort of statements are acceptable?
Dear Sonos developers - I read in today's New York Times that Sonos is working on possible Amazon Echo voice recognition integration. As a loyal Sonos user, wanted to request that this feature not simply be pushed out as an enhancement/upgrade, but made optional in some way....perhaps a simple on/off feature. I have no interest in using this feature as I have privacy concerns.
