Sub Gen 2 with Arc

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

I recently purchased the Sub Gen 2 about 6 months ago. I plan to one day purchase the new upcoming Sonos Arc soundbar. With the new Sub Gen 3 releasing, does this mean I will not be able to use the Sub Gen 2 with the new Arc soundbar to create my home theater surround sound?

No it doesn't mean that. The Sub gen 2 will work with the Arc.

Will the Gen 1 Sub will work with the Arc?

My logged in System page on Sonos.com lists the Sub (Gen 2) as incompatible with the S2 app, though. So while the Sub (Gen 2) will work with Arc, does that mean there will be some things that the pairing won’t be able to do?

Sounds like an error. I have a Gen 2 sub currently bonded to my Arc.

I don’t think it’s an error. I think it’s based simply on the Sub 2 not having the latest HW. Sounds like the pairing works just fine though.

Then run an update from the controller? I updated to S1 and then to S2 on Monday, when it was released. That update was processed on all my speakers, including the Gen 2 Sub.
