So my wife and I just bought a Sonos Beam and got it setup. Admittedly we did little research before this purchase, we just learned that Google Assistant was added and thought it would be a nice addition and a perfect way to start our road to building out a nice sound system for our home... Unfortunately we have been hit with disappointment after disappointment: 1st was the shoddy setup, we had to do a factory reset out of the box because for whatever reason it wouldn't go through the start up as expected. We resolved the issue, but it was annoying that this device had such a problem not even 5 minutes out of the box. 2nd was this nonsense about not being able to connect multiple accounts to the speaker - this is absolutely ridiculous. My wife setup the device and then when I created my account, thinking I was going to join the speaker and connect my accounts, I was sadly mistaken that the speaker was registered to my wife alone... how is this even still a thing? If the idea is this
I have a Sonos One. Google Voice services recently quit working and I was not able to successfully re-add them. I did a factory reset on the speaker and I’m now attempting to add the Google Assistant. In that process the Sonos app transfers control to the Google Assistant app. The app is “Looking for devices” but the result is always “No devices found.” I’ve tried this several times. Any suggestions? Ironically, adding Amazon Alexa is a snap. It’s just adding Google I’m having problems with.
Hi, I have google assistant on Sonos Beam and Sonos One. It was all working fine until the S2 app launched a couple of days ago. Now, when I ask a Sonos to play a radio station (e.g. play BBC radio 2), google assistant initially replies with, ‘playing BBC radio 2 from TuneIn (as usual) but then fails and says ‘sorry, I cannot find what you’re looking for’. If I ask google assistant to play music it works fine (using Spotify). I assume this is a TuneIn issue but the status page isn’t reporting any problems. I removed TuneIn service from the Sonos S2 app and re-added it, made no difference. I also rebooted all the speakers, also made no difference. Any ideas? Is there a problem with TuneIn? Thanks
Hello, I bought my first Sonos products 5 years ago and still happy about it. Recently bought a Sonos Move and I am wondering when the Google assistant will be enabled in English in Poland?I am not Polish so I would like to have it in English for your information. Regards, Steeve L
I have google voice set up on my Sonos Beam and it has started saying “Sorry I don’t I understand” randomly even when muted. I have no idea why this is happening, The fact that it’s happening even with the thing is muted is the really weird part. Also it happens mostly at night which is a problem since its in my bedroom! Any advice on how I might fix this?
I have a 5 zone SONOS system and I am not a YouTube music user and do not intend to be one. Too damn many subscriptions already. And the app is terrible for accessing the 10,000 songs I have on the SD card in my phone. However, I AM interested in casting the music from YouTube videos to SONOS, and ideally, have the music go to SONOS speakers and the video go to my TV. There are thousands of great YouTube music videos that I want to watch and listen to via SONOS.The real problem here is obvious. It’s a battle between David (SONOS) and Goliath (Google) for domination in the streaming music business (both on-premise and via the web).Sonos is a good size company and they are a pioneer in high quality whole house synced music streaming….but we all know how this is going to go. Google is already winning the protocol battle and SONOS will be forced to add that to their system (for a price of course).Non-Google apps and streaming services could choose to support SONOS and Google Cast but o
Is it possible? If yes, how?My Samsung TV Is the type UE48J6302.BestLuca Leoni
Just set up new Sonos One with Google assistant. The Sonos controller works and I can stream radio/music through the Sonos One. If I speak to the Sonos, the music goes quiet so the microphone hears me saying 'ok google', however I get no response from Google. If I speak with my Google Assistant mobile device active, then Google response does come from the Sonos. Any ideas Guys? Thanks DD
Hi,I just set up my Sonos One, adding YouTube music and Google assistant. It doesn’t work right at, it’s very annoying.I say “hey google, play X by Y”Is then plays some stupid random song I never asked for. If I look what has happened it has found some playlist (not one of mine) called “Mix X’ and started to play the first (of hundreds) on that playlist!!Example;I say “hey google, play blue monday by new order”And i hear small town boy by bronski beat!!!!!!!!!!!!! wtf!!If I look in the Sonos app, I see it’s decided to play some random playlist called “Mix Blue Monday” of which smalltown boy is first track.Btw, after I have ask it (as above)“sure, playing blue monday on your tube music”, then plays fade to grey by visage,
Some more background I am using youtube premium account and I use the same account on a harmon cardon citation device with google assistant and my personal phone. Youtube premium support up to 10 devices and so I configured google assistant on the sonos move. harmon cardon citation device is about 20 feet away from the sonos move and separated by 10 walls. The point being there is no interference. I ask the same questions to google on sonos move and it doesn't know the answers! however the harmon cardon citation device can *google* and get me the answers! Even small things like “play instrumental jazz music” does not work on sonos move. The error I get back from sonos is “Sorry I can’t find what you asked for” “Play soft rock music on youtube music” the response I get back from sonos is “Sorry I can’t find what you asked for” All of this does work on the harmon kardon citation devices!! This is ming boggling to me I verified my youtube account credentials on the app, ensured google
I have brought a Sonos One in order to substitute my other smart speaker. After I have installed successfully the device with the Google assistant I have found out that the speaker does not respond to most of the commands I have checked under my Google Assistant activity and I saw that most of the commands are not understand and are logged as Unknown voice command Is this a known issue? Is this something Sonos is workings on?

Hi’ I seem to be having an issue to get my sono speakers back the way they where, I’m trying to control the volume with google home to have all the speaker turn the volume up all together and also down. for what ever reason it will only control one speaker at a time. Any help to resolve this would be appreciated. I did try different settings but seen to be at lose on how to set this. I can control the volume of all the speaker at one time with the app but not with Google it did work at one time but has stop. Thanks in advancelou
I feel like I've tried every fix that's recommended, but no luck. When trying to add Google assistant to my Sonos App, the process seems to work perfectly, but after the process is complete, it does not work and it doesn't show up under Voice Services in my Sonos App. Even after it says it was successful. Additionally, the Sonos Playbase does show up in the Google Home app, just not in the Sonos App. Bottom line, Google Assistant doesn't work. Everytime it says it's successful, but never shows up under Voice services (in Sonos App) when I click "Done" from my Android phone. How do I fix this? Ps. I've tried changing room names, removing music services, starting from scratch, etc.
Hi there just set up google assistant on my sonos 5.1 and two other sonos ones. Setup was smooth, but after installation, it gives the following reply whenever I ask Hey google to play music/ spotify etc. My google music services is the same spotify account as my sonos default. same for the sonos device setting. I can skip track, pause, stop music once I've launched spotify from my phone etc. Hope someone can help 🙂
I have successfully set up routines to turn off lights etc when I leave the house via the Google assistant on my sonos one but I cannot seem to find a way to add turn OFF the music as part of the routine. Currently I activate the routine which turns off the lights and have to give a separate command to turn off the music. Is it possible to integrate both commands as a routine?
I have 15 Sonos products, Amazon Echo dot and Google nest mini. I have a total of 66 smart home devices from radiator valves to light bulbs and power sockets to speakers.I have found Alexa increasingly annoying and becoming more and more picky about how you achieve things. She will respond to “Alexa set the dining room lights to 50%” by saying “please try again using % for brightness and degress for temperature” which just frustrates the hell out of us.We have found google nest mini to be a LOT more accommodating in how you ask it to do things. “Hey google, can you set the lights to be brighter” for example. Now I recently purchased 4x Sonos One and 1x Beam. The plan was to move wholesale to Google Assistant for a more ‘humanised’ interface. I installed the Beam, added a couple of Play:1s as rears (previously operating as a stereo pair in my kitchen) and enabled Google assistant, ran trueplay…. everything was going really well. The beam responded well and everything seemed to work as ho
We all know how all encompassing big tech can be. I was one of the few people that invested in a Nest camera before Nest was acquired by Google. Once Google acquired the company, Nest became a little compromised in terms of what they offer. If Sonos bailed out because of the big tech squeeze, Sonos will never be the same under Google. Whilst the Google Home Hub sells well, it’s nowhere near as quality a product as Sonos products. Any Sonos legacy products are easily superior that any of Google’s newer products (Google does not really have special interest in speakers, they have special interest in a bigger slice of the market -whatever it takes. I recently switched to the Ring Doorbell because they are genuinely about home security rather than also trying to harvest users’ personal info in effort to sell you more products (soon there’ll be a Google refrigerator, Google car, shaver, etcetera, it’s mind numbing). Sonos has a moral duty to not cede their innovation spot to the G. What say
Hi!I am trying to link my Sonos system to my google home. But every time when I am using the google home app, push configure a new unit search for sonos and then link the app just say that the account is link and I am back to the beginning with no speakers. Can somebody help me?
Very low volume on google assistent and no reaction when i try to adjust the volume. What to do?
Hi, I have set up Google Assistant on my new Sonos Beam, which works OK. However GA will not play Spotify on Sonos. I have set up Google Assistant in the Sonos app, and logged in with the same Spotify premium account on both the Sonos app and the Google Home app. I’ve even signed out and in again on both apps to be absolutely sure. But when I ask Google assistant to play Spotify on Beam, it claims that I have not signed in with the same premium account on both apps. I use an Galaxy S10+ for setup. Any ideas?
Hello All,I am trying to play white noise on my Google assistant through Sonos continuously throughout the night. No matter what I do, it only plays for one hour and stops, waking us up. On Google Home, you can say “Ok Google, Play White music for 10 hours” and it will do so. On Sonos, you can say the same thing, but it will stop after one hour. Makes no sense? I have Sonos in every room and gave up my Google Home so hoping I don’t need to bring it back! Thanks
