Troubleshoot, tune and get the most out of your system

Since recent upgrade of S1 app on Android, I can only play S 1 by grouping it with S 5 gen 1. S1 app will not allow any streaming to Play 1 as a stand alone player. It was working fine until recent upgrade. Any clues please? I have rebooted everything, checked network, etc. It definitely feels like a problem since Android S 1 app update. E.g. errors “701, cannot add to queue” on Mixcloud, and “unable to play the radio station” on TuneIn.
After Stitcher eliminated my favorites playlist, I started looking for an alternative podcast platform to use between Sonos, Windows and Android. I hoped to try Pocket Casts Plus under their free trial period, but when I try to add the service to either my S1 or S2 system, I authorize my account via the web page and it says ‘success’, but when I return to the ‘Add a Service’ dialog in the app, it says ‘Account not found. Unable to add Pocket Casts account.’
Well after 18mths of “reasonable” success with BBC radio via Alexa and BBC Sounds skill, all has now ended! Was my success out of the norm as I see the BBC and Sonos don't appear to be talking, and no matter what I try Alexa tells me despondently to try again in a little while!Tech should not be this problematic and I’m not pleased that the BBC keep telling me to listen to everything on the Sounds App. Email to the BBC next?
It doesn’t automatically update in the background and continue to work flawlessly like every other electronic device I own. Instead it updated through WiFi, then it loses the WiFi signal it just used to update and makes you plug a speaker in to the router in order to reestablish a WiFi connection?!??! How does that make any sense? I’m always trouble shooting this dinosaur of a system. It’s literally the most frustrating piece of technology in my house, actually in my life. EVERYTHING works better than Sonos. And EVERYONE I know hates it. Grrrrr. Back to listening to music through Bluetooth for now because I don’t want to troubleshoot this stupid Sonos system AGAIN.
Hi.Has anyone had problems with Deezer on Sonos? I have lost most of my favorite tracks and a recent update has changed the my music category. It now has no my top tracks category where you could play your most listened to tracks.Im not happy.Anyone had same issues?
I do not use voice activation for anything in my home. But I do have a couple Sonos one with built in voice control. I have never attempted to use it, but today, without opening an app on any of my devices, i pushed the play button on a One and it began to play an amazing playlist quite compatible withy my emerging tastes. I have no apps open on any device and in fact powered down all of my devices just to see the effect. No effect. The One continues to play without interruption. What is the input directing the One to play?
Hi there, I've been having the hardest time setting up my sonos move. I have two sonos speakers (the SL one and sonos move) and two wi-fi routers. How do I add them both to the same account, so that when I switch to one wi-fi router, it automatically connects to the sonos system connected on there? Because currently the sonos move and the sonos SL One are connected to acocunts on separate mobile devices, but I'd like for these two accounts to be able to connect to both of these speakers. Every time I try to add product / join system for the Move it keeps buffering and the options to add accounts are grayed out even though I’m already connected to the appropriate router. I'm outside of the service countries and I can't make international calls at the moment so I’d appreciate any/all help on here. Thanks!
Same problems everyone else seems to have.... set it up, worked for a few minutes... popped an error. Will not work with Xfinity now.... tried reading all the suggestions here, just made me more upset that my gear I paid good money for will not work now.
Hi, my app updated the other day, since then i can very rarely connect to the sonos. The only ways to get it working is an ethernet cable or reboot the router. Once the router reboots i can see the system in the app for a few minutes until it looses it again. The sonos will continue to play whatever was loaded up but it wont let me connect from the app. I sat for half an hour with the sonos rep on the live chat the other day fiddling with the routers internet settings and while it worked when he was on the phone, it lost it a few minutes later. This is really annoying. The system has never had any issues, iv been using it for 4years now. The last few days have been difficult with no music. Please help
First time user/buyer, first time poster. Livid at support right now!!!I’m having a very bad first experience with setting up a Beam. Setting up an account? Cool. Click on a verification email? Cool. Wait, why didn’t it verify? Why is it not seeing the Beam? Why is support going through the same troubleshooting I already did twice? Wait, why is the email verification link already expired under the hour timeline you quoted? Why is everything broken about this process? Why is your tech insisting on connecting ethernet directly to the router, even though it is connected to a dummy ethernet switch? Why are you so bad at first impressions? I’m livid, not feeling heard, and think I made a mistake paying more for a Sonos sound bar.
Hi All, I have a pair of Sonos Five in stereo mode and a Sub, I also have a pair of SL One.Right now I have the setup in 2 “rooms” on teh APP and not “linked” as one systemMy question is should i be able to add the 2 x SL One to the Sonos Five and sub and make them surround speakers? Right now I have the speakers physically in the same room as i used to have a playbar. When i had the playbar it was easy to “Add surrounds” but i dont have that option with the Fives?
HiI have about 2500 MP3 files in my music library. When I start playing, everything is fine - but then I fx. watch some tv, when I again want to hear music and start playing the music library playlist it starts from number 1 again. Isn’t there a way that Sonos remember the last song played and can continue from there???It’s pretty stupid to listen to the same 10-20 songs again and again :)I know that I, via the app, can scroll down to the last played song or shuffle the songs. But I mainly use Google assistant voice commands to start and stop playing music.
Sonos Play:5 Gen 2. (Version 13). Play5 is configured to auto detect line in.Speaker unplugged and moved to an area with no wifi. Speaker plugged in. Phone sourcing to Aux in produces music (all is good). Pause play on phone. Restart play on phone, no music from Play5. Unplug of phone confirms sounds is playing from phone Plug phone back in to Play5, reboot phone (tic, toc, tic, toc) On boot, music plays. Questions -- Can the color of the Play5 indicators provide clue to issue? Is there a way to force the Play5 to recapture the stream from Aux input? I assume Play5 sees Aux input gone, and does not re-acquire aux input stream when it restarts. Is there a method to allow music to pause on the iphone and restart (without the long, long reboot of the iphone)?
Hello all, I am Eric from Hong Kong.I have a Sonos beam, sub and 2 Sonos one SL to form a 5.1 system. My Sonos one SL on the right surround keeps dropping out, every time when it dropped out, I will to reboot it to make it back online. It will only drop out when it is not in used, I never experience drop out when it is in use.I have tried a wired connection (LAN cable connecting my beam and my router) or wireless mode, both modes cannot solve the issue.I contacted the seller in HK, they already exchanged me a new one, but the drop out problem still exist, can anyone from Sonos Support please kindly help? Some more information: Router model: TP-link AX1500 Archer AX10 Wi-Fi 6 RouterTV: Sony KD-65X7000E
My Beam has worked quite happily for over a year. Decided to add a Sub to the setup - and held off buying surrounds for now. It’s taken me on/off a day to get the sub added and connected to the Beam. Honestly, it’s an absolute dumpster fire of a setup process. I mean, I use lots of smart home gadgets, and this is definitely the worst setup process I’ve been thru. I’ve setup different Wi-Fi networks, changed settings as per suggestions on here, sometime I see the Sub but no Beam, then I see the Beam and no Sub. Then I see both but it says they aren’t on the network, and then the sub needs an update - which it subsequently says failed, and then “no update required”. Seriously folks, do you do any QA of the setup process at all?It appears to be working, but I know as soon as I get a power outage or a network reboot, it’ll die and I’ve no desire to go thru this hot mess again. Whoever is responsible for software development there really needs to try and experience the setup from a con
Sonos App (iOS) is not able to connect Sonos Beam to network. Right around the time of the most recent App update (13.0.4 on 4/6), suddenly my Sonos Beam dropped off my list of devices accessible via Airplay, and it was no longer showing up in my Spotify list of eligible speakers. Attempted a factory reset and to say the least...there were a lot of reconnection attempts required, where it wouldn’t pick up the network. During a single connection window, managed to get it set back up with Alexa. Not long after, however, the Sonos app promptly disconnected again, and has been that way since (past two days). The app complains all devices are disconnected, is completely unable to detect the Beam unless I attempt a new device setup through bluetooth, the Beam itself never returned to the list of eligible Airplay devices, and any attempts in the app to reconnect the device to the WiFi say the network is inaccessible. However, all the Alexa-enabled features of the device are working just fine (
Spoke to a Sonance rep who told me I could power a full Sonance Garden series (an 8.1 setup) on 1 sonos amp. Has anyone tried this or can confirm this? I am looking for some real power behind these speakers to fill a large space. Thanks!

Hi, hope you can help. I found an old topic regarding this where you state that the phone is a remote and shouldn't affect the playing, but.If I get in to my car and the phone connects to the car hifi music stops. Playing any source.Next, working from home phone calls I connect my Jabra 75t earbuds the music stops.I can just start again but a bit anoing. This also happens when in my sommerhouse, on different internet an separate move.
I’ve had my Beam for several years, it was previously connected via ARC to a Panasonic Plasma and worked flawlessly (albeit in Stereo). It was primarily used with an Apple TV HD.Now I’ve got a new LG CX OLED TV and Apple TV 4K, and I’m finding that often, When I turn the TV on, the audio will come out through the internal TV speakers. When this happens, I can sometimes go through the “Setup TV” process in the Sonos app and the TV discovers the sound bar again, but this also doesn’t work some times.I’ve also tried setting the sound output to Dolby Digital 5.1 in both the TV and Apple TV, but this doesn’t make any difference from what I can tell.it’s pretty frustrating, so would appreciate any advice.
I am trying to play music through Google assistant commands on sonos one. But it does not listen to my commands. I am using youtube music.
I reacently bought Sonos Arc, 2x One SL, 2 Ikea Symfonisk bookshelf and a Gen 3 sub.The system is awesome and i love it.But every time i come home from work, and start playing music on the kitchen (2x Symfonisk (placed on the kitchen) and the sub (placed in the livingroom)), only 1 Symfonisk speaker starts playing. After 30-60 sec the sub starts, and after additional 30-60 sec the last Symfonisk starts. Is this normal ? Or is there something i can do to make the whole system start at once?
SalutiFrancesco
We cooked up a video that goes over some basic troubleshooting. Hopefully this is helpful. NOTE: This is not a virus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahb2_UTJabw&t=55s Thanks,ATD
