I bought an Arc to replace my PlayBase, which I love. I will be using my PlayBase on the Samsung TV in our bedroom. My 10 year old Sony Bravia KDL series (70”) has a hdmi arc connection which I found out when I connected the Arc hdmi cable to one of the regular hdmi connections. The Sony TV is not Dolby Atmos. So how do I get Dolby atmos through the Sony Bravia TV? Do I need a smart tv that’s Dolby Atmos? I will be purchasing the
LG Oled tv sometime next year.

It is not possible to get Dolby Atmos audio from a TV sold in 2014.

You could add an eARC adapter like the HDFury Arcana and use a streaming device that supports Atmos audio with it. The Arcana will allow the streaming device to bypass your TV’s limitations and send audio directly to the Arc.

That’s what I thought. The sound from Arc sounds incredible compared to the Playbase, even without Atmos. I will probably wait till I buy that LG 83”. Thank you.
