Ok - I was able to see my playlists for about 1 week and now can’t find them. Can someone tell me how to get to my playlists on the new app?

In the new app you need to go to Sonos Favourites then playlists.
If you don’t see them then the options are to roll back to 16.1, use the desktop app or a third party app like SonoPhone. Or I guess wait and see if Sonos fixes it in your lifetime.
