Oldest iPhone for Trueplay?

I'm considering buying a dirt cheap iphone if I can get it to work with Trueplay.  I'm considering it, not completely sold on the idea.  My Sonos Roam and Move can provide Trueplay without the need of a phone... Weird that speakers such as the Arc cannot.

Anyway, does anyone know what is the oldest version iPhone I can use?

Thanks in advance.

Also consider an iPod Touch 6th Gen. It can run iOS 12, which Sonos still supports.

For some reason Sonos doesn’t yet support Trueplay on iPod Touch 7th Gen, otherwise that would perhaps be more future-proof. Whether they will ever support TP on the 7G I know not.

All of my Sonos speakers have been tuned with an old iPhone 5S running iOS 12. The iPhone 5S was released in 2013.

I went with an  iPod Touch 6th Gen too, didn’t save much by going older.

It works just fine but is very rarely used so you might be better off just borrowing something.
