Can Play 1's play high res audio?

I’ve got 2 Play 1’s as surrounds with Arc . Will they play high res audio when I output full Music playback?

    According to this article, the Play:1 doesn’t support 24-bit streaming, only 16-bit. Although I’m not sure if that changes if the Play:1 is acting as a surround speaker to another speaker that supports 24-bit audio.
