My YouTube Music playlist has 2,337 songs. The Sonos app on android, when selecting my playlist, now takes a hand full of songs and repeats them totalling to 34,100 songs. Shuffle doesn't work. Before this it used to show 500 songs. This is just flat out awful and frustrating. It's amazing how we went from a good product to garbage and it has been for a long time. Customer satisfaction doesn't seem to be a concern. When will this be fixed?
I have something very similar. I have a music library of ~6000 tracks. When I select Classical in the genre and then shuffle it says there are 35100 tracks in the queue. After a few times re-shuffling the shuffle gets incredibly slow. This seems to have happened in the latest update.
I do remember fondly when my Sonos system was a quality product that worked well. It’s been a good 8 months or so since that was the case.
I reported this just after the latest app update. Sonos knows about this issue so a fix should be coming.
in the meantime you can use SonoPhone, Sonos PC app, Phonos Universal PC app or the old orange app if you have it somewhere. Load using any of these and the new app will show no duplication in the queue.
I have the same issue as well. Smaller playlist work. For as expensive as these are they should be able to handle a 5hr playlist. Remember when you could just cast from your phone and not use the GARBAGE Sonos app… that was the last time my system was enjoyable. This issue has made my system unusable. I refuse to adjust my playlist to compensate for something that used to work fine.
Any updates on this? Every YouTube music playlist just keeps getting duplicated until the system crashes or freezes. It pretty much makes Sonos unusable for me.
I am running into this as well. Trying to play any playlist above ~100 songs ends up being repeated - as if it’s an endless “add to end of queue” loop. If I add a 50 song playlist, no problem.
I know the team at Sonos is exhausted after a really rough year, but holy dear god, the functionality of this app has dropped to incredibly subpar. I’ve invested a lot in sonos since they came on the scene, and it’s dismaying how unreliable the streaming experience has become.
This issue is not new, there are threads talking about this from more than an year ago...its so frustrating. Why does Sonos has a such a crappy software...why can't the app function like normal.
For past 2-3 weeks, as soon as i move to a new playlist on YTM, it crashes out for no reason. There is always some problem going on...and reinstalling/updating software/removing ytm, nothing helps.
same here ..
Coming up a month now and still no fix. The new CEO is going to need to speed up taking care of issues like this.
I've had this issue for over a year. I've come to the conclusion that they don't want to fix it.
The latest update seems to have fixed it for me.
Good that it works for you, since when has it worked? I haven’t updated my app for various reasons….
So I’ve updated and it’s fixed! About time Sonos but thanks anyway.
I still can’t switch YouTube playlists though….
Thanks for the heads up EricTheMagenta!
For the first time in months I was able to load a PL larger than 100… I tested a few large lists and the max PL now seems to be 500 tracks.
I’ll take it for now, at least it’s not recycling the same 100 songs to create a 34,000 song queue lol
Thanks
It was so annoying with 100 limit, I had to split playlists with no other option…
Anyways I am sure many other users who have much more songs would like this....cap of 100 songs was crap.
What I wonder about is, who fixed it? Sonos or YTM? Sonos blamed YTM and vice versa. Still at least it's fixed!
Was there a software update for Sonos?
There was an app update a month or so ago. Ericthemagenta above reported it working.
