I’m so sick of this, but how in the world is the Volume Control still so laggy????  Volume control has a total mind of it’s own.  I just blew my in-laws out of the room because all the sudden my volume went to 11 (yes - Spinal Tap reference).  COME ON, fix the basics.

Volume Control = SUCKS!

Speaker Selection = SUCKS!

This is what I paid for, simple home audio.  It used to be simple when I started purchasing Sonos 10+ years ago.  Now, a decade later (and me investing thousands and thousands of dollars of hardware), I have a system that works about as well as what you would expect a $19.99 speaker from the local drug store to work.  COME ON SONOS - FIX THIS ALREADY.

Most often, the issues you describe are caused by network issues, between your controller and router, or the router and the speakers. I’d certainly check the wifi interference FAQ, as well as performing a Sonos network refresh, by unplugging your Sonos devices from power (or powering them off, if battery connected), and rebooting your router. Once the router has recovered, power back on your Sonos devices. This will give them both a fresh IP address, as well as a refresh of the Sonos OS. Finally, check your system for updates, in case there are any that need to be applied.

However, you could always submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

It’s not network it’s just laggy having multiple rooms and different generations of Sonos. IRL problems boys!!

How odd that my Play 1s, Play 3s and Play 5 gen 2 are all working along with my Gen 1 Beams,  One SLs, Arc, Arc Ultra and Subs (gen 2 and 4) then.

In my case it was my network at first, then the buggy App, then my network (I did a dumb thing) again.

Had to admit I was stumped and had to get a diagnostic looked at both times when it was my issue. The Sonos folks were quite skilled in saying "you dummy, look what you have done" but in a far nicer way.

Hi,

I've just released a very simple, free, one page iOS app to control audio settings for speakers, it's called Zonus.

The focus is on reliability and easy access.

More features coming soon.

Available on Apple App Store

Welcoming feedback

Enjoy =)
