All my music is located on my computer, organized in iTunes.  It is very messy, with files located under 2 Users...if I click on a song file and select Properties, iTuues shows me the path to the song on my hard drive. But also, I can look in File Explorer and see that many if not all songs are stored in both Users.

Everything was working fine for a while, then I noticed that Sonos was skipping songs in many of my iTunes Playlists...”access denied”.

I have been trying to add more song folders to my Sonos Music Library but it won’t let me. I have been all over the internet looking for help. I have looked at tons of my folders and Shared them. I don’t know what else to try. For the time being, I just want to be able to listen to ALL my songs, like I could before.

Another question: At a later date I want to clean up and re-organize so that everything I do is under only one User. And I want to re-organize iTunes so that my music is all in one folder. These are separate problems, not to be solved here. BUT I am thinking I will need to do a complete and fresh re-install of Sonos. When I do that, how can I be sure that EVERYTHING has been uninstalled? I don’t want old files and directives to be brought to the new installation.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue. Sonos has not helped. They used to be very helpful and could fix over the phone.

Since May 28, my last attempt at contact, there’s been an hour wait on the phone. I guess the log left in the fire is, we are not alone. Time to start shopping for a new system. Adieu, Sonos, you will be missed.

BTW~ It doesn’t hurt to uninstall and reinstall, but neither does it help or solve the library issue. Be sure you use a program like Clean My Mac to effect a complete uninstall. Windows users, I do not know. Perhaps there is a clean my windows?

Thank you for responding.

This is so frustrating. The situation is worse, since I wrote my post. I have tried many times to Add Music to my Library and been given the 913 error code. A couple of times I have tried to Update My Music Library and the library has totally disappeared. Then It will accept only one folder to the library. The weirdest thing is sometimes I click on a song and it plays just fine, but then without my doing anything, when I try to play a song or Playlist again, it says Access is Denied to my computer.

I am on a PC. I realize that some of my problems could be in Windows, but why now, all of a sudden? I have Googled like crazy and done everything I can find, such as making sure all my folders are Shared. Maybe I should look for a program like you have, that will go deep into my computer to remove every tidbit of Sonos, then re-install.

My set up is a bit complicated...4 zones of built-in Bose speakers and 4 Sonos Connects running them. My Music is stored in iTunes, all organized into many Playlists. I launch Sonos from my computer, choose my Playlists and start playing, then switch to my iphone to make changes from anywhere, such as Volume or Pause.

But THE POINT IS, I have had the system set up this way for several years and it has been great. What is causing it to stop functioning now???

I really appreciate you trying to help me--thanks!

Here’s a thread about the 913 error. There’s some good posts on how to fix it. Hopefully this helps.

Thank you for your help.

I have already seen and performed the steps in the first link.

I am not so sure about the second one. My computer is messy and in need of some serious reorganization. First, I have 2 Users (I don’t know why) who each have music in them, and lots of duplicates between them. Second, all my music is in iTunes--no music files anywhere else. I can click on an individual song in iTunes and see the path where it is stored. I do know that many songs are stored in 2 places, under those 2 users. I have no idea why iTunes shows me one location over the other.

So I don’t see how I can safely perform the steps in the second link.

I’ve about had it. I just want to listen to my music--is that asking too much? Apparently, it is. Sonos worked well for me until a week or 2 ago. I did not do anything to mess it up. Technology is supposed to make things better, not worse. With all the problems people are having with Sonos, I wish I could chuck it and find an easier way to connect my computer (using iTunes) to my 4 zones of Bose built-in speakers.

Thanks again.

Sonos created this issue. It seems to find its locus in the ‘new’ controller.  I have not been able to fix it even with all the suggestions, paths, et al. I’m in a one bedroom apartment and have only a Play 3 (I think), in the kitchen. I had a Beam, gave it to a friend. My Play 3 is over five years old, so I may abandon ship and get something else. Very disappointed in this new development. C’est la vie. That’s French for WTF.

WTF indeed.

“abandon ship and get something else”… what else is there??

All of a sudden (5days ago) My Sonos gives me an error message that it cannot access my computer Library. I have tried to update the library without success. I have checked all my firewalls, and they are the same. Nothing has changes except my Sonos system!

I have tried the chat NOT helpful. I have called at different times of the day, and it is always a 40-minute wait in the que!

I can play radio stations and that is all.

IS anyone out there from Sonos? Have you gone belly up and just did not tell anyone? Totally frustrated.
