Starting to lose my patience with this now. I’ve had numerous phone calls and chats, read up on the site forums. Is it just me or does sonos and BT not work?
I’ve tried disabling all security on all devices 🙄
Any help before I stick this lot on ebay and buy something that actually works?
Is it me or the product? 😔

Your second screenshot is using your mobile data 5G connection NOT your WiFi 5GHz channel. Look at the icons just above the testid, it says ‘EE 5G’ your first says ‘BT’.
If your phone is using EE 5G mobile network, it wont be able to find Sonos products that are connected to your BT WiFi.
No its not.
The WIFI ICON is clear.
I bet you this issue is due to the roams wanting to connect over 2.4 and the newer piece of kit being able to switch. I bet you now, I switch off the roams and just have the move and era on there will not be an issue.
BT have been producing kit for a lot longer than sonos has existed.
thats 5g
this is wifi
I’m not a techy but is that wifi?
I think you are getting confused.
5G is mobile network provided by your mobile operator, EE.
WiFi is the network provided by your ISP, BT. This can operate on 2.4GHz or 5GHz.
They are different networks.
Take a look at WiFi assist, if you disable this, it will try to hold on to your WiFi connection, and wont ‘roam to your mobile data 5G connection.
For reference its 1000 MB not 100. I will speak with BT. I will even try a different router.
Mate, just turned wifi assist off and nothing changes.
It still says EE there so I question whether you are correct or not,...
Let me try my Samsung device and see what happens. I see what you are saying with 5G.

Its a EE WiFi connection above, look at the icon.
You need to ensure your mobile phone(s) and Sonos are connected to *SAME* network.
I will also turn this wifi assist off too and see if this helps.

Look, thanks for sorting. Not sure I like your attitude and whether it’s because you think you’re smarter than someone with less technical knowledge or not. If it is then fool you.
In a nutshell, not sure I’d buy more of these products. How was I supposed to know about WiFi assist? Why don’t sonos talk about this ?
I was just frustrated with a purchase that was not doing what it said on the tin...🙄

I’m glad its sorted.
6 Months later, still at the same spot. idk, help me pls lol am I think or is this not doing what it says on the tin?
The only way I see this working is me reducing my bandwidth to 2.4ghz which is clearly what the sonos products like. Then I lose my 1gb broadband speed…
Unless sonos have brought out some newer products that like a decent 5ghz connection???
I must be so thick that I can’t get sonos to work, yet apple, LG, BMW, Samsung (ok) and the rest work fine.
Oh, I forgot to add windows to that. And it’s funny it’s only iphone and not the desktop app that has connection issues…
Sonos speakers = good
Connection issues via app = not good…
It’s a pity I spent £1.5k on s*** without reading the forums. Should have perhaps spend the extra couple hundred on BOSE?
Yes.
Sell what you have on a marketplace of your choice - prices are still strong for pre-owned Sonos gear. Then replace with gear of your choice.
^Don’t listen to this guy he’s taking the p***, Bose blows 🤣
There is no sense in keeping an entertainment product that isn't entertaining you.
The advice on resale prices is quite valid and reselling is a much better option than throwing them in the garbage that many here have said they are doing. Even a Factory Reset and donating them to Goodwill or St. Vincent's is a better option for the environment.
I haven't looked recently but finding a better sounding, lower priced, better supported product with a better warranty and extended support seems like a good plan.

This is good advice
Wow, come home today and everything is working… Wonder how long this will last 😂
