Since I downloaded the new app, there have been ongoing problems starting the system, using the favorites and playlists. The favorites and playlists can no longer be edited, but still show older stations or albums that can no longer be accessed.
The Sonos network constantly shows connection problems. Sometimes the problems resolve relatively quickly, but sometimes only restarting the device helps.
I really miss the alarm function. Thank God I was able to prevent the update in the desktop version. There are still control options available here.
In short: I am annoyed and disappointed to see such amateurism in the development and introduction of a new system for an otherwise very professional system like Sonos.
Apparently no one has taken user interests into account. Colorful icons were obviously a bigger driver. There is a lot of room for improvement here!!!
The weirdness with alarms continues.
I have one alarm for Jazz set to 6:29 for Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays. I have a second alarm for medieval music set to 6:30 for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays.
this morning the Jazz alarm went off at 6:29 as expected, but a minute later the medieval alarm went off. It played for two minutes, then stopped and went back to the jazz alarm.

Extremely weird behavior.
My alarms fail completely. I have followed recommendations about checking for updates, restarting speaker, deleting and re-adding alarms. Nothing works.
And don’t get me started on how un-user friendly the new app is. One of the worst app rollouts I have ever seen.
Agree, new update is not providing a functioning alarm.
Please Sonos, give me first a working update, before anoying me with new headphones.
Support had me factory reset the unit, still no alarm
Finished with support. Here is the workaround while they are working on fixing the awful app.
Install the desktop app from the website (Windows or Mac).
Delete and recreate your alarm(s).
After a few updates I got the alarms back.
But….when I set an alarm for 06:00, the alarm sounds at 08:00….
when I set an alarm for 04:00 then the alarm sounds at 06:00….
so it’s no using the system clock but GMT.
Where can I change that?
I’m located in the Netherlands
VARFÖR ÄR VÄCKARKLOCKS FUNKTIONEN PÅ SONOS APPRN BORTTAGEN?!?!? HUR TROR NI JAG SKA VAKNA? JAG HAR MATTE NATIONELLA IMON ÅHGGGG

WHY IS THE ALARM CLOCK FEATURE ON THE SONOS APP REMOVED?!?!? HOW DO YOU THINK I WILL WAKE UP? I HAVE MATT NATIONAL IMON OHGGGG
If you install the new app you are effectively a non consenting BETA tester.
I don’t know about that beta builds tend to be at least functional.
Amazingly idiotic!! Not only is the alarm function gone but the alarms are left on in the speakers with the latest settings with no way of changing it or turning it off!? My blood is boiling! I hope I don’t run into a Sonos-representative anytime soon, I’m in no need for jail time!
Of course, this is it! I expect full reimbursement and a biiig excuse! Then it’s good bye and f*ck off Sonos! Bose, here I come
The alarm function doesn’t work in the iOS app; I have the latest version of the app (80.01.11). Currently, there are three alarms visible in the iOS app, but they cannot be deleted, activated, or modified. In the desktop app, there are completely different alarms, but they also cannot be changed or deleted. The error message that appears in the desktop app is: ‘Unable to save the alarm. Please try again later.’ Additionally, I’m unable to add alarms to either the desktop or iOS app. I have 31 Sonos devices.

I was trying to be patient with what is obviously a historically terrible app launch…
Until the alarm function, that can no longer be managed, decided not to work anymore for some but did for others….and made people be late and absolutely miss critical events.
What in the actual f- Sonos?
Fix it! Not in a later release, like now.
How is anyone at Sonos ok with this?

Sorry, I want to clarify that I, in no way, intended the text to be perceived as a threat. Rather, I was, unsuccessfully, trying to jokingly express my frustration. It is not like me to be so irresponsible in the way I express myself, and to be clear, this apology is only coming from me thinking twice about how the text could be understood, not from being approached from Sonos or anyone else. So, please accept, if needed, my sincere apologies for the way I expressed myself!
Alarms can be modified and turned on/off, added, deleted….whatever you want (S2app 80:01:11 on iOS 17.5.1).
The only problem I have is that the alarm times are in GMT and because I’m in a CET timezone, the alarms are 2 hours late.
How come I can edit alarms and it looks like no one else can?
soooo i can't turn off my alarm now due to the new update, my alarm now goes off at 3pm every day and i need the music from the sonos to get to sleep
sonos you gotta sort your **** out because genuinely what was the point of the update…

I still can’t find the alarms in the new app. I really don’t understand why it was removed.

Go to settings >manage, you should see it there. Some users are reporting that even though they’ve updated the firmware and app that alarms are still missing.
Sonos says they were removed because of a bug.
Thank you, I found it. Much harder to get to it then before.
Okay alarms is easy enough to find but my early one at 7 am doesn’t work anymore. Can I go back to the old app please (iPhone). This new app is atrocious
Just to reiterate, until they fix the phone app, using the desktop app gets around these alarm issues for many (but not all) customers.
In the desktop app, delete all saved alarms, and create new ones.
Just set an alarm @ 15:00 and nothing happened…(except for the Perez crash…)
I guess it will sound @ 15:00 GMT instead of 15:00 CET
Must be a simple fix for Sonos….
The alarms show up on the iPad and the Mac versions of the Sonos App but not on the iPhone version
To add to this there is also the recurring alert from the Sonos App to tell me the Alarm went off at 06:30 every morning (it doesn’t)
alarms in iOS…but they sound @ GMT instead of CES where I reside
The alarm function is back! Thank You!
Why can’t I use a Spotify playlist as my alarm music? It worked before this last update in May 2024
