Sonos revolutionised my music listening about 8 years ago. Everything just worked so well. But then the app was updated and it is now almost unusable.

They keep saying they are trying to fix the bugs, but they’ve been saying that for over a year now. Sonos is still s*****.

For something that used to be so seamless, the app now takes forever to connect, so something as simple and pausing the music now takes about a minute.

My question: is there any point sticking with it, or just ditching it entirely and stumping up the cash for something that works?

I think that’s probably about it now for app updates.

it saddens and angers me that this is the state it’s been left in. It functions but not as well (for me, at least) as the previous incarnation.

I will continue to use my system (the speakers still sound great) but I won’t be buying any more. I have shifted back to ‘proper’ hifi and tend to listen on my Cambridge Audio system, comprising of amplifier and the excellent MXN10 streamer.

I sincerely hope that it not “about it now for app updates”.  In my particular case (which has an Incident logged with Sonos who agreee that it is a known isse) I am unable to play “my” music from “my” musiclibrary on “my” speakers from either my iPhone or my iPad.  The workaround (if it can be called that) is to fire up my desktop computer and do it from the Windows app or Web App Controller but I believe that is to be taken away from us soon 😕

This will be used in the future (it is isn’t already) in business schools as an example of how to crater your own company. Shockingly bad.
