I have a simple Sonos system with 2 Play 1’s and a Boost. I recently had to set up the system again as my PC went away to be fixed. I was using the S1 app but have now been moved to the S2 app. Now I cannot set up the music library. I have tried to connect to the Sonos on my desktop computer and my laptop. Every time I get a message: “Reason: Unable to add the shared folder //Laptop … to your Music Library(1002)”
I thought it might be a network issue, so tried to make a small library using a USB memory stick in the desktop or the laptop with a few music files on it. Still no joy, and the same message.
Could it be a firewall issue (although as far as I can tell the firewall was configured correctly during the setup procedure)? I am using a mesh system and again all looks OK with all the nodes connected.
I am running out of ideas - does anybody have any idea what the issue might be?
If your library shows on the S1 app and not the S2 app it might be a SMB issue. S1 uses SMBv1. S2 can only use SMBv2 and or 3.
Where is your music library shared folder right now? If your music library shared folder was on the PC in for repair then have you created a new folder for your music library or is there a copy of your music library folder on a PC you have now? Or maybe your PC back from repair??
Did you set up that USB small library as a share in the same manner your original music library folder was set up? Could you try to set up a shared folder on the desktop with a small amount of music in it.

This process works well as long as the computer is already set up to allow shared folders and as long as SMBv2/3 is active on the computer.

How to check and add SMBv2.
P.S. I would give up the Boost.
Thank you for your response. I’ve checked the sharing, and all looks in order, so I’m still at a loss to see what the issue is.
I only use the Boost as I have it available - I bought it when we had a much larger Sonos installation in our old, stone built cottage which was not very WiFi compatible.
