Sonos keeps doing things that make me prevent recommending Sonos. Kind of crazy.

You should be directing your thanks to Google, who is closing the access method Sonos has been using. Much like Apple closed that method for Apple iOS users in 2019.
+18To be clear, it’s not that using Android for Sonos is over, it’s just that playing music stored on your Android phone to Sonos is not possible anymore.
