What device are you trying to run the “app” on? What operating system, which version of the Sonos software are you trying to use?
Have you tried to call SonosSupport directly to discuss it?
When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and network.
