Are there plans to get a widget for controlling the most used speakers in your home? I would love to be able to turn up and down the volume on my playbar from the home screen.
It’s likely that the Sonos engineering team has an already extensive list of bugs and features that need to be implemented. And given that this feature would only affect a certain percentage of users, it probably drops lower on the list. Probably not off it, but probably not at the top.
Yeah I get that, but still find the updates slow coming. S2 was too similar to S1 no real major upgrades to it. When you pay a big price for these systems I expect constant new features added and things added promptly… But hey that’s just me.
A Sonos widget would be an incredibly useful feature; would generate a ton of value for Sonos customers! Go dev team!

Please give the people a widget!!!! I would love to control the tv volume on my beam on the Lock Screen:-)
Hi
If there is anything else you need, please, let me know.
The Sonos community is always open to suggestions and feedback.
This is great but I’m slightly concerned that the Sonos engineers haven’t thought of this idea already. It’s absolutely essential as the current methods of controlling Sonos aren't user friendly at all. I’d say it’s in the top 3 of the list of wishes for my Sonos system.
No sign of it in 12.2 update

Given the engineers were given the idea only a month ago I don’t expect widget support for at least a year. Probably longer in the case as Sonos as they seem to have unusually long dev cycles for new features.

I fixed this. Not a widget, but a lock screen - and Control Center - fix.
no thanks to Sonos support, who was useless (spewing inaccurate boilerplate). Even the forum “link to URL” is broken. Geez.

there aren’t any engineers. It’s all break/fix and they’re not fixing what’s broken.
But they are selling overpriced speakers.

+1 definitely!!
Any idea on when that could be developed? It would make use of Sonos app really useful, fun and quick!! It’s a pain to search for the app when you need to start/stop/change music…
Yes please… this is rapidly becoming a standard, and Sonos is going to get left behind…
Just throwing my vote on the pile. Brand new Sonos user and navigating to the app is a little clunky. Would love to have the ability to access from my Home Screen via a widget!!

I fully agree please make this happen
Sonos widget: Yes please!
What’s the update on the widget for Sonos? Spotify has one and surely this is pretty straight forward and is a top priority for Sonos given the level of integration with the Apple eco system.
We’re all anxiously awaiting this.

I’d also love this!
However, for folk requesting interactive controls for things like volume, iOS 14 doesn’t currently allow for this, widgets can only display information, and link to particular points of the app (opening a specific task in a task manager, for example, not completing it within the widget).
Hopefully Apple will open up this level of functionality at some stage, but I would’ve get your hopes up until iOS 15 or after...
Interestingly, ‘Today View’ widgets prior to iOS 14 do have these interactive features. Shame...This would make for a hell of an addition to the Sonos app.

I have to agree. Being that Sonos is an entirely app-controlled ecosystem, you’d think that the company would put the user experience at the top of the list. I love all of my Sonos products, but the app is definitely the weak link.
Come here to give my vote for this feature. The app should be smooth as silk and the UI should have every accessibility feature possible.
As much as I love my Sonos system, actually controlling it is certainly its weakest point. The app is a disappointment for such a high dollar system.
Having the possibility to switch between different EQ profiles (for example changing speakers volume balance - now it takes unlocking th device and 4 more clicks to getting there - frustrating) from the widget perspective would be very nice. I am quite shocked it’s not already implemented in the app - especially considering Sonos is not a tiny unknown company with limited engineering budget.
An iOS 14 widget would be highly appreciated! And while they’re at it, maybe they can also combine this with Apple Watch integration. Enabling to control the Sonos speakers using your Apple Watch, like the Spotify app does.
I am disappointed that after many months no Widget is available. Sonos marches to the beat of their own drum but the drummer is lost in the woods on this one
Or their engineering staff has more important things that they are working on, rather than a feature that might affect only 50% of their user base. We don’t know for sure.
Could you Sonos folks please hurry up with this iOS widget!?
