Please can we have a better way to navigate Apple Music artist and album lists.

I’ve been using a Sonos Port for many months now making the switch to Sonos when the Apple Lossless support was introduced.

I’m very happy with the solution and appreciate that ‘features’ take time to implement but I really do think its about time a better way to navigate through the Album and Artist lists is introduced.

It is currently very laborious to have to scroll through complete A to Z lists just to get to the item you want.

It surely should be possible to add a capability to jump to the starting letter of choice.

Here’s hoping…

Thanks

Hi @speedyuk,

Thank you for your feedback. I’ve seen many people mention that they’d like the ability to quickly jump to a specific letter of their libraries added to Sonos, so I’d be happy to mark this as a feature request and forward it to the relevant teams for their consideration.

I don’t have any ETA on when or if this will be added, but if you have any further suggestions or feature request, please don’t hesitate to post them on the community!

Isn’t that what the Search is for at bottom on the Sonos Apple Music screen?

Hi, I’ll be honest I don’t / haven’t used the search option - I’ll experiment, but that assumes you know precisely what it is you are looking for. Often I want to flick through the ‘library’ but don’t want to have to start from ‘A’ every time so having ability to jump to specific letter would be very useful. Apple themselves obviously think so as it implemented in the native Apple Music app, I’d just like that carried forward to the Sonos App. As I said I use the Sonos App to stream lossless. Thanks

As a workaround, you could use the native Apple Music App to scroll through using the quick scroll on right (which I think is what you are asking for),  to find what you didn’t know you were looking for, once you know, flick back to Sonos App and search.

True, but that obviously isn’t very elegant. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that Sonos try to win back some customer satisfaction and implement the quick scroll function natively. Cheers

Apple is one of the very few music services to support the alpha-jump API. Local Library also does at the API level, but the unfortunate new mobile app can’t do alpha-jump on anything.

As there are only two sources (out of over a hundred) that can use this, its clearly a low priority to bring back.

Thanks @controlav  it’s good to know it is possible for them to implement (for Apple Music), it certainly would make navigation a whole lot easier.
