I cannot seem to find a way to add songs to playlist in the new app. when I click on the ••• next to a song while another is playing, the only option now appears to be Replace Queue, and no ability to insert the song. what am I missing?

This is the most ridiculous update I’ve ever seen. The one reason I told people to move to SONOS was the functions you have removed. Sort this mess now! Someone needs to get fired. How can anyone at SONOS approve this update? What clown show are you running over there?

Same! Now those functions are gone. Such a FAIL.

EPIC FAIL!

This is simple:
if they do not fix this until summer - I am gone.

Why keep on doing these companies this kind of s***.

This is so unbelievable. I am out of words. I just upgraded from the S1 app to the S2 app and I cannot use any of my devices anymore. How am I supposed to play more than one song? I haven’t found a way to do this. This is beyond unbelievable ?!?

how do the other people use the sonos system? You just play radio or what? Or us only pre defined Apple Music playlist? I never do any of the above.

I’ll try to downgrade back to the S1 app when I have some time or throw away all the speakers.

Sorry but this new app update is simply sh****** your customers in the face. Searching, clicking, volume is not reacting and if so it's taking forever. Half the time I click on a track I get an error. Creating a playlist function was not important enough to make the cut?

HOW can you release such an horrible untested update in 2024? It's not even a new app..

Oh yeah because everyone who were so stupid to buy your products are forced to use your incredibly useless app. The old version was already worse than most…

One of the reasons I love Sonos was using the app to play with playlists. I would like to go back before the change please. I didn’t agree to this change.

F*** Sonos and the horse it rode in on. Three years' worth of carefully curated playlists are gone.

In going over user remarks on the new Sonos app, it is not a challenge to conclude that Sonos missed the mark in this rollout. I’d be sympathetic, but I cannot see how to control Sonos Playlists with the new app. Consequently, I have to run to my desktop is I want to change a playlist. Is the app going to be modified so that it is more compatible with the music library?

Goodness I thought the S1 to S2 transition was bad enough but this  latest fiasco is downright incompetent at any level from concept to application.

Apart from all the missing  core functionality the new app has also affected realiability and operability. I have the most frustrating time with using the playlists now which no longer enable the titles to align with the actual music playing - usually two or three behind . To compound the problem , on virtually all but not every track the music jumps half way through the track to the next one. Purely arbitrarily. At first I could still rely on the desktop controller under S2 to play the tracks properly - which it did - but now that has been stopped by SONOS and I can no longer create a working desktop Windows controller at all on S2 or this new offering. The process just goes into a loop of nothingness after saying it is updated.

What a pain. Sonos should be ashamed. I have been a customer for about 20 years and am convinced all SONOS wants are the new generaltion of pure streamers which is fine but why do they ignore the needs  of a vast customer base that uses NAS or other libraries for their primary source music? .

How do I add music to my Sonos Paylists - I can’t figure it out in the new app. Really easy in the old app! Any help??

thanks

New app wants me to delete my playlists.  How do I add them back?

Glad you mentioned the song titles! We have the same problem: The title shown is not the song playing. But that's the smallest problem. Like everyone on here, all but one of my playlists linked to my Mac disappeared and there is no way to make new ones.  Not sure how that one survived but I can't modify it. Streaming services I listened to regularly are gone and when I try to add them back all I get is an error message. Literally ever second time I open the app it can't find my system and wants to me to do a new setup. I understand that new apps often have a few bugs, but this is so bad it seems intentional. Are they making accessing music so bad that we will give up and subscribe to their so-called Sonos HD Radio service for a monthly fee?

It doesn’t get any better I fear. My desktop controller running on S2 (which was behaving itself normally thank goodness) no longer works and when I was reluctantly forced to update it things got even more tiresome. I now have the ludicrous situation where after signing in and being told the desktop app was duly updated it won’t show the result . Instead it only gives you the choice of using the app which is not the desktop controller equivalent ie presumably the same one as on my phone. Has any of this been remotely thought through? Or am I completely misunderstanding how the desktop controller was meant to transition or better remain outside the loop but working?

Ability to add songs to Playlists... gone?!?!  Cmon SONOS what is going on?

Hey Sonos !
Fix this problem ASAP - or your app will be doomed!!

How do I access my playlists?

this new update is so trash…i havent used my Sonos system for like 6 months outta embarrassment with guests cuz nothing makes sense…. Please revert back to older version. Doing any task which was once so simple, is now super frustrating. Like wtf I can’t add a song to a que on a playlist and dj? I spent thousands on these speakers and am suffering for an app update? Gtfoh

FIX YOUR APP ASAP. WE ALL SPENT SO MUCH MONEY ON THESE OVERPRICED SPEAKERS. HOW HARD CAN IT BE?????

I’m about to sell all 10 speakers I have. And go back to jbl. I’m going to tweet about this. No one has answered in 10 days.

We can’t even move songs up or lower on a playlist which is qued? Like this is djing 101 at this point which is clearly misunderstood by developers. And if I use Spotify to manage the playlist, you guys won’t allow the crossfade to happen. You force us to use this ancient app interface and functionality. So annoyed.

Not saying it’s good. In fact it’s terrible. But most tech companies like this are in a struggle with their users. Once you get that UX isn’t what it is any more, it’s rather CORPS/X, that is, designed to serve the companies’ direct, usually ongoing financial interests, it makes sense. We think we’re buying hardware and software to support it. But no, not really. From the company point of view we’re buying into an opportunity for them to build revenue by other means (their stations etc). Us choosing what to add to a playlist, or even having a playlist, goes against that. We’re just components really, linking the financial systems to various media systems.

La nuova versione dell app fa schifo, funziona tutto peggio sia con Android che con iOS. Non si trovano più le playlist, , e’ tutto più difficile se non risolvete in tempi brevi vendo il sistema

Moderator edit:
Google Translate-

The new version of the app sucks, everything works worse with both Android and iOS. I can no longer find the playlists, everything will be more difficult if you don't solve it quickly, I'll sell the system

Like so many, really frustrated with new app. What have you done Sonos? I can now only playback or shuffle the first 100 songs of my playlists. Been in help chat room and basically been told it's always been like that??? Well it wasn't last week !

Before the app update, while searching for an artist, I was able to pick top tracks, hit play and the list would be play.   This function is gone.  Please bring it back.

Change tone controls is now buried in settings.  It’s important to be able to change it quickly.

Hi -

WIth the new iPhone app, I can only find “Sonos Favorites”, and not the “Sonos Playlists” that were available in the old iPhone app, or are still available on the desktop MacOS app. How can I access them on the new iPhone app?

Thanks.

I usually give companies the benefit of the doubt with significant changes to the software base, but playing and editing playlists is such a core feature that I cannot believe it was not implemented in the first release of the new UI.

Can you imagine Google Maps rolling out a redesign without directions? Me neither.

Oh, and it’s slow as molasses as well. Can you please roll back the update while you fix basic functionality? I’d like to enjoy listening to my music. Thanks.
