We like to travel, while traveling in our RV our dash radio stopped working, no problem just connected my phone to the Sonos Move, and we had music all the way to our destination. Once we got there however, it stopped working, would not pair via WiFi, or Bluetooth to any device. Called support, spent an hour on the phone and they could not do anything to help, told me I HAD TO BE CONNECTED TO A WIRED PASSWORD PROTECTED WIFI IN ORDER FOR MY DEVICES TO FIND IT, Really? And FYI if you don’t have a WiFi connection you also don’t have a blue tooth connection! Then how come it worked for 10 hours while we were driving? Came across this answer which I have attached for your reading pleasure, and because guess what in less then 10 minutes everything was working again on a private password protected hotspot!!!!!! So if you have an issue, try this first!!!!! Trust me I was screwing with it for two weeks until I came across this!Best answer by cycod3rI have this same issue. So far, not a good p
I have 4 newer Sonos One SL speakers. Two are in a pair. After initial installation all was good but now after a couple weeks I can no longer connect to the paired speakers using Airplay to stream my Amazon Music. I can see all the speakers in the Airplay list, the paired speakers and the two individual speakers. I can still connect to the two single speakers with Airplay. I can also connect to all speakers using the Sonos app, and I can stream my Amazon music through the Sonos app. I have factory reset the paired speakers, but still no dice. There are no issues with Wi-Fi networks, coverage, etc. I see a lot of similar problems listed here, but not this exact scenario. Any ideas?
I can stream Apple Music on my MacBook Pro not a problem. As soon as I want use other speakers (which are visible) and select them, the music stops playing on the Mac, even though the tune continues to stream. I can AirPlay successfully to all my speakers from my iPhone, so seems to be just Mac related. I’m running MacOS Big Sur 11.6. Any ideas?
I have Connect AMP wired to the router and Play1 and Play3 running in other rooms. All products are still on S1 app.Very regularly i loose Play1 or Play3 but never Connect. If i try to add new product S1 App never finds the product, but after a while the speaker would appear on its own. It is annoying because it generally happens when i need/want to use it.I am thinking it might be linked to S1 vs S2 and product updates. Can i run Connect AMP wired and on S1 and Play1 & Play3 wifi only on S2?Do i need two separate accounts or can use same account/login to both apps? Can i then link my Spotify to both S1 and S2 at the same time? thanks for help
Hi,I have seen on the forum that many people had this problem. My diagnostic report right after the alarm started with the chime (instead of the selected playlist) this morning : 1667887087The playlist is my "Liked songs" playlist on Spotify with around 2500 songs. What can I do ? It works a bit better with smaller playlists, I don't know why. Thanks,Andy
Hi,For some reason the last time I posted this question it was set as answered - however I did not set it as answered.I have been using Spotify connect for over 4 years now. About 3 months ago it stopped playing Spotify. I can start a song, however 5 seconds later it stops. If I turn the volume up or down it works for another 5 seconds. I have updated the software on all devices. The connect is wired (therefore is not a network issue). All other streaming apps work fine, it is just Spotify that doesn’t work - which is frankly the only streaming service that should work. please help - this is driving me crazy. feedback on the first post GuitarSuperstar Try the troubleshooting tips in this article:https://support.sonos.com/s/article/305?language=en_US Hi GuitarSuperstar, Thank you for sending through the article. I had found it previously and worked through each of steps meticulously to no avail. I tested my friends Sonos amp and it works perfectly with Spotify on the same netwo
HelloJust bought the Beam Gen 2 and connected it to my PC sound card/DAC using the optical adaptor. If the sound card is set to SPDIF 2.1 then I can control the volume of my Beam using Windows 10.If I set the sound card to 5.1 dolby then I cannot control the volume using Windows, only the Sonos App lets me change the volume. Why is this? What’s preventing Windows from controlling the volume whilst playing back DD 5.1?Is there any alternative?Thank you.
HiThis is a bit long but; if you continue reading, it may save you headaches with Sonos and get you back online “with a quickness" given a similar situation. Note: My Sonos is in wired mode via Boost module. This is just a one-off solution that may save you time prior to rebooting router (which can have consequences for other internet dependent devices in your home) and/or unplugging all Sonos. It does not circumvent other tried and true solutions already presented in this community. While listening to SiriusXM (Room/Speakers) via Sonos Amp with Sub and Def Tech speakers all went silent! First thought was to open the Sonos App (S2) on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and restart the stream. To my surprise my system could not be found???I’m not one to immediately start unplugging speakers and re-booting router. So I checked the LED status lights on all my Sonos equipment and they were all White. I was even able to command Alexa; via another speaker, to start SiruisXM stream to the Room/Speakers.I the
I saw this topic:...that wasn’t exactly easy reading for me. I’m sure like a lot of people in the community I have invested a lot into Sonos around the home and have also re-invested with the new S2 range replacing older S1 appliances. This is now complete. For my shower-room, I have installed 2x Monitor Audio Controlled Performance CT380s. With all of the hard surfaces in there, there’s probably almost as much room sound as their is source sound. This is leading to bass boom, particularly an upper-bass harshness. My attempts to control via loudness and bass settings tempered the situation but it’s still far from perfect. This has been made all the worse because the Sonos Connect Amp before did not assert these issues and I could find a nice balance in this room using the simple attenuation provided far more easily. I selected these Controlled Performance speakers because they can deliver quite a punch when necessary. I have even bi-wired the cabling to ensure there are no curr
I have a Youtube Music premium account that is distinct from the Google account I use for my Android phone. I can see Youtube Music content (playlists, etc) when adding it as a service to the Sonos S1 app using my Google account but not when using the Youtube Music account (“No selections available”). As far as I know, neither account is a brand account.I don’t see the logic behind this and would be very grateful for suggestions how to solve this issue.
So I’ve crafted a wonderful playlist over 3 years by using shazam on my travels, finding ambient this or that, airport lounges, hotel lounges… my home used to be bathed in a wonderful mix of ambient / downtempo / jazz ……… and now all of a sudden every track in my poolside playlist isn’t encoded correctly. yeah, I’m using amazon, and yeah I guess its amazons fault. but seriously. my googling led me to the fact that exporting playlists has been a feature request forever, and the main app can’t do it. Instead i gotta get an apple device to use some dudes hacky app… i expect different from a product that I’ve dumped over $1k into. Not have to search through github repos .. i mean jesus. Costco might be getting them back. hooray costco. unless anybody has another way.
I had a brief power outage yesterday. When it came back, all of my playlists now say that the songs can’t play because they are not encoded properly. I have rebooted the modem, router, and Sonos arc several times with no luck. Are there any fixes? It would take me days to delete and replace these lists. Would greatly appreciate any advice! Note: All songs are from Amazon Music.
I have a Sony TV, Playbar connected to TV via optical, Sub, Amp and two in-ceiling speakers. I have a Boost wired to my router (Netgear Nighthawk RAX45)When I turn on the TV (via Harmony) I initially get sound, but then the Amp light turns green and mutes the sound and the Amp light turns white. If I go to that room it says nothing playing. If I go to Browse and select TV the volume comes back on.Have tried rebooting the router, Amp and Playbar.Any suggestions??
I see this is a recurring and persistent issue here, so joining the chorus of users who are having issues streaming SiriusXM radio via my Sonos system. I can usually connect and SiriusXM will play for an hour (if I’m lucky; it often cuts out much sooner) before the stream drops. Once the stream dies I get the “song not encoded correctly” error which makes no sense. I can usually restart the stream after waiting for 5–10 minutes.I have worked with support multiple times and tried all of the “fixes” spending hours on the phone. Ultimately they said it must be my wifi, even though that mode no sense, so I upgraded my wifi and the problem still happens every 20-30 minutes and ONLY with Sirius. SiriusXM is my favorite provider and I am desperately seeking a solution.
I have four fixed speakers and a Roam. The wi-fi in the house is a mesh network (BT WholeHome). In wireless mode I suffer frequent audio cut-outs with the message “your wi-fi network is unstable”.To fix this, I switched to wired mode by plugging ethernet from my router into one speaker. For a while this worked much better, but today I noticed that all my speakers except the one directly connected to the router are back in wireless mode (appear as WM: 1 in ‘about my system’). I have tried rebooting all the speakers, the router, and removing and then plugging back in the ethernet connection but the speakers will not switch to wired mode. The speaker connected via ethernet shows as WM: 0. (I realise that the Roam will have to stay in wireless mode)
Hi, I have a Sonos beam paired with two play1s in my living room and when listening to TV, works without issue. However, when I try to pair my Move or other play1s in other rooms, these other speakers skip very heavily, while the main living room 5.0 system still works perfectly...it’s just all other speakers where I get the issue. However when I stream any music, there’s no issue - it’s 100% isolated to the tv audio. This is a recent development, maybe within the last couple of months. I have used it for a couple of years without this issue until recently. Any help is appreciated.
Similar to this post, when I restart my wifi access point (AP), none of my Sonos speakers automatically reconnect. Basically no rooms show up in the app. I need to pull the power on each one, plug it back in, and then it comes back online. Submitted diagnostics: 1682414447Network info: Unifi USG, Unifi APs. I found that the issue was much worse when my Sonos devices were set up on my main wifi network (that spans multiple APs on a single SSID), constantly cutting out. Now that I’ve moved them to an SSID that sits on a single AP, it only drops without recovering like this when that AP does it’s routine updates/restarts.
I have an Amp, with two surround speakers, a Playbar and Sub connected to my TVWhen I first turn on the TV I get sound and a momentary green light on the Amp, then the light turns white and the sound stops. I can sometimes get the sound back by rebooting the Amp. Any thoughts?
My Sonos app has stopped working. It has always worked well and now it doesn’t. I have tried : turning phone off and on.reset phone reset network settings calling sonos calling apple. The sonos can still be operated from my laptop and my friends android. I’m out of ideas can anyone help please.
With both Apple TV and Spotify, while playing music, Sonos will frequently stop playing a track in the middle and skip immediately to the next track in the queue. I’m a long time Sonos user and this behavior started maybe 6 months or so ago. I’m using S2 and the network matrix has only green squares, except for a couple of zones that are white and don’t show any OFDM ANI or noise floor info. They do have green squares in the body of the matrix though. Any ideas?
Hi everybodyI’ve been experiencing drops of audio every time I play (or skip to) a new song on spotify through sonos. The pattern is quite consistent: song plays for 10s, some speakers drop for 20s and all goes well from 30s in. There is also a lag when I press skip in the sonos app before anything happens. I’ve read all I could find on the topic but am running out of ideas. The setup:> 850 sq feet (85 sqm) flat, triangular shape> Paris city centre so old building, stone walls and neighbors all around > 8 speakers (7 Ones + 1 Arc) and 1 boost> Boost at the center of the flatI’ve: - assigned a static IP to all sonos units- repeatedly changed wireless channels of the router and sonosnet (not overlapping)- moved the boost from another place (less central)- changed ethernet cables- unplugged devices around the Boost to see if that decreases interference- hardwired the arc to the boost (no change)- looked at the stats on the network matrix (latest below)I cant hardwire any other
In Spotify I would open up my Like Songs and start playing one. When i try to connect to one or all of my Sonos SLs it will say trying to connect for several seconds before failing to connect and continue to play on my phoneAdditionally, when I go to the Sonos app and go to my linked spotify account and click on Songs in Your Library, i see all my Liked Spotify songs, but when I click Shuffle, i see an opaque wheel followed by a “Unable to add songs to queue” messageThis doesn't happen with any of the other playlists i have, which i rarely use or listen to I understand i have quite a lot of “Liked Songs” (over 10K) but i find it quite ridiculous that i can shuffle my songs using headphones but not on my sonos speakers
I have a playbar and a Samsung 6500 series from a few years ago. When I set the system up, the remote worked perfectly controlling the playbar. And it's been fine 99% of the time.Every so often, I'll notice the playbar isn't responding to the volume anymore. And that's it. I can't fix it. Batteries in the remote, moving closer, re-setring the remote in the TV or power cycling the playbar, playing with the remote settings in the app. Nothing works. I have a second one of these TVs and that remote usually works on this pkaybar, but when this happens the other remote does not work here. (the "problematic" remote works fine on the other TV). Eventually, after a couple days, it works again. So I'm pretty sure the playbar is the problem. Any ideas?
When I came home, my Sonos was playing an unidentified music. How is it possible that an unknown person plays music during my absence. Usually I used Airplay 2 from my iPhone or my MacBook.
I am only 5 months in to using Sonos and so far all has been great. I have a stereo pair of Sonos Ones and a Sonos Five. I have a turntable lined in to the five and play the turntable through the horizontal five and stereo ones together in one room. I have audio delay to a minimum and compression set to nil. This system has been working PERFECTLY until yesterday when my Sonos app wouldn’t let me continue until I upgraded so, following the links I did just that. Now I have intermittent sound from my left sonos one speaker and the upgrade has broken my stereo pairing and I don’t know what to do. Any help would be appreciated. The fact that I have been using this up to yesterday tells me the wifi and setup works - but something has been broken in 12 hours and I am really annoyed.
