We’ve been having some trouble lately with streamed sources occasionally stalling, and in the process of troubleshooting I’ve been looking at the network matrix to see if interference might be an issue. We introduced a Boost some years ago to deal with such issues, however I still find as we live in a block of flats that changes in surrounding wireless networks will occasionally again start to interfere.Looking at the matrix, I’m struggling to understand and wondering if someone might be willing to take a look. My interpretation would be that several of the players are complaining about the level of ‘noise’, presumably from surrounding wireless equipment. However, I’ve used Wifi Explorer to scan surrounding networks and channel 11 (currently set) is by far the least used. My home network is already on channel 1 and at lowest power/narrowest channel width.Possibly a complete aside, but also can’t work out why the Beam (‘Master’) is not showing any colour at all and very little infor
When adding speakers I seem to be forced now to use this stupid passcode audio tone that does not work… It blasts a tone several times which of course everyone in the house is wondering wtf & then the phone does not recognize (phone has a working mic & access to Sonos app), then I get to go through it again but this time it askes to hold it closer which does nothing either… Then the app realizes it’s not working and THEN it gives me the option to push the connect button which is what I originally wanted about five minuets ago. I'm in desperate need of an answer or explanation for this because its just so dumb… No I'm not using a blessed by the Pope iPhone if that's the problem… Okay, then at least give the option to bypass the tone and go straight to the connect button, its what its there for right?I imagine installers must love this great feature and all that extra time farting around to get it working...
when I'm watching or listening to things I get a soft rumble then a bang and then my base goes mental why is this?
My sockets tripped last night, I think I’ve just discovered why. The power cable in my playbar has melted and there’s a mark on my TV stand that looks as though it sparked. The cable is completely stuck into the device. Has anyone else experienced this? Support are closed until tomorrow, I’ll be giving them a call first thing.
I currently have the hub3 anad have received an email from Virgin saying I can upgrade to the Hub 5 for free. I had issues when I upgraded to the hub3 because I had multiple wired speakers and the Hub3 wouldn’t play ball so I’m a bit concerned that the new hub might have different issues with Sonos.I’d be interested to hear if anyone has this new hub and if you had any problems. Thanks
Well, if it’s a day that ends in “Y” I must be troubleshooting something with my Sonos.Today’s issue is vexing - I dialed up my iPad and the Play 1 in my office wasn’t listed anymore. (Four other Play 1s and the pair of 3’s were there). So I tried to “Add Missing Device” - no avail.I was about to move my desk to get the speaker and go down and climb around the router and plug it in when the missus said, “YOu must have fixed it - look it’s here in my phone!”So cool. Then I went to my office and…Long story short:Play 1 is missing from some controllers. It’s the Office Play 1, not other four Play 1’s or the paired Play 3’s. It’s missing from the Windows PC controller and the iPad controller, it is not missing from the Android controller. All apps are up-to-date. This Play 1 is connected wirelessly, as are all but one of the Play 3s. I first noticed this today. The system has been installed for over three years. Trying to “add” it does not seem to work.
Why is my Sonos Beam (Gen 2) and all Sonos products randomly turning off?
Hi, i managed to fix the defective power supply so that the voltage can be measured. I have 230v ac and 220v dc on the bridge rectifier, 100v on the large capacitor, but unfortunately no voltage is passed on to the output.Has anyone an idea of the reasons why?
Hello,Yes, its another one of those posts. Im sure you have seen them time and time again...as individual issues yes, as a collective, maybe...but I am at my wits end. Now im not stupid, I have already gone through all the common fixes, twice, three times and I cant get anywhere.Collection: 10 Ikea Symfonisks and 2 Sonos Play 5, connected with a bridge.Problem: My collection of Sonos speakers on my network simply cannot play a song, together for any length of time, songs drop, skip or simply fail to play...I am at my wits end.I have tried:Various ISPs - currently on a 50mb line.Sonos Boost - made no difference, currently not used.Streaming Services - no difference which one.Routers : have used several, purchased a new one less than a few weeks ago, no difference...Bands - have tried 2.4 & 5Channels - have tried all when boost was installed.Networks - had a dedicated network for Sonos only - no difference.Speakers- have rebooted and updated all devices.Error Messages - Have had ever
Still frequent interuptions, mac pro, cable network, everything fine, but the sonos software does not work. Tried different Routers etc. the problem is the sonos system
I wanted to share how I solved an annoying problem with my setup in case it helps anybody else. Set-up: Beam, Sub, 2 x One as a surround-sound set in one room; One in kitchen, near router; Symfonisk in study. None of them connected to ethernet. Problem: Everything worked perfectly (for months) until, earlier this week, the Symfonisk stopped connecting. The white light was on, but the app couldn’t see it, and if I pressed the play button, the LED just flashed red. Failed attempts to resolve: I tried everything (or so I thought) to diagnose and fix this. Rebooting Symfonisk, rebooting router, rebooting other Sonos components. I did a factory reset on Symfonisk multiple times. I tried setting it up with and without ethernet connected. I tried changing channels on the wifi router. You name it. Result: It didn’t matter what I tried. I could sometimes get the Symfonisk to appear in the app again, but it would invariably disappear from the app when I tried to use it, or cause the app to han
Over the past several months, SiriusXM has had more and more issue. The issues include:New favorite channels not showing in the Sonos App - nothing new added over the last few months shows No favorites showing in the app - as of today, I get an unable to get content message Live channels missing from the list (Classic Rock Party is in the SiriusXM App, but not Sonos App)This has progressively gotten worst. I have confirmed in the SirusXM app all the channels are working and my favorites are saved.I have logged out of the Sonos App, clear the data, rebooted everything and logged out of SirusXM. None of this has changed anything. The Sonos status page shows SiriusXM does not have issues. What is causing this?
Hello all,I just received my Sonos One SL and I am experiencing some latency issues when using Spotify. When I push “play” or when I go to a specific time in a song there are some latency (around 2s) before the song actually start again. I do not have the same problem when I pause the song, it stops right away with no latency at all.The Sonos One SL firmware is up to date and I tried to connect it through wifi and trough ethernet cable and always the same issue. I also tried to control it through different devices (iphone, laptop...) and same results. As this is my first sonos, I do not know if this is normal. Any ideas?
And its back, the S2 nag screen has reappeared and I can’t turn it off.I did a reset through more options but the nag screen comes right back and locks everything down. No x’s no Close, No 3 dots. And yes I have the latest version form StoreDoes anyone know how to get past this? it is seriously beyond annoying
I started to question on how the strict quality check was done on these Sonos Subs. I wonder if anyone out there knows. I have my Sub that I purchased back in December 2018, about 3 years old, that I found no longer working all of a sudden. This sub was used less than normal as we enjoyed our entertainment with few movies and TV shows. It was always placed at the same location by our TV. The cover is collecting dust but the sub itself is till without finger prints and shiny. Unfortunately the sub is no longer working and our 5.1 surround system is no longer. No light response despite the 20 second hold and change of power plug. Is there another trick I may not be aware to fix this or my 3 year old sub is simply out of luck?Harry
Hi,This topic might give a clue to many other connectivity problems found in the field with Sonos. first a short introduction to my environment.I have been having issues with my Sonos setup for about 9 months now. I have a setup with 2x Five (in L+R pair), 2x One (in L+R pair) and 1x connect:Amp.The Connect:Amp and one of the One’s is wired, the Five’s and the other One are wireless. To complicate things I am running an Aruba 515 network with 4 AP’s with different VLAN’s. Previously I had a Cisco RV345 firewall as egress, but that has been replaced by a Fortigate 100F.The firewall gives out DHCP, and I have created a soft switch in the Firewall where the wired connections and the VLAN from the wifi ssid for Sonos come together. When I connect a wireless device (laptop, mobile, iPad) to the wifi network the core network functionalities work as expected. I can browse the internet, ping the firewall, AP’s, and wired Sonos devices. However the wireless Sonos devices refuse to receive a DHCP a
Hello! My controller routinely plays the wrong song. I will click on a song/album, but it plays something completely different.Using controller app on macOS Monterey 12.3 and Sonos Controller 14.2 (both latest version). I have experienced this problem before on earlier versions of controller and OS. It seems to have returned.Typical flow to recreate problem:Now Playing has a current list of songs. Navigate to Apple Music > Recently Added (or any other configuration). Single click on a song/album from the list in the far right column. Hover over and click the down triangle on a song/album. Click on “Replace Que”. Sonos does NOT play selected song/album -- instead it plays a song/album further down on the list. It replaces the que, but plays a totally different song that I never even clicked on. This happens every time I repeat the above steps. Has been happening for about 3 months now.I want the problem to go away. Probably requires a software correction. Sharing here so others can ad
Hi, Sirius XM has started skipping (jumping ahead and cutting out). We have a wired system and the wireless is disabled. 3 amps and a connect that connect to our router then dsl. The speakers are wired to the amps. I’ve removed the Sirius Service and re-installed it… nothing seems to work? Really irritating since we listen to Sirius alot.
4 of my Sonos speakers (2 x Sonos One + 2 Sonos One SL) disappeared. These were working fine for the last several months. I tried to add them back in after resetting and even though the Sonos S2 app says they have been added, I do not see them in my system. I have tried other methods as noted in Sonos App under Support>Find Missing Products but no success. In terms of my network hardware I haven an Orbi 6 Mesh Router (1 RBR750 +2 RBS750 all on firmware V4.6.3.7). 2.4GHz is on Channel 1 and 5 GHz is on Channel 48 - with Sonos on Channel 6.One of my Sonos PlayBar is connected to my Orbi router via an Ethernet cable connected to a Cisco Managed Switch (CISCO SG200-26), which is connected to the Orbi RBR750 router. I have also tried unplugging the ethernet connect for 10 seconds, then plugging it back in, before trying to add the Sonos one again.Diagnostic #386199281 Wifi Analyzer SnapshotSonos Network
Hey Sonos Community,SummaryWhen using airplay to cast music to Sonos speakers, my iPhone 13 Pro iOS 15.2 system sounds (keyboard clicks, Lock Screen chime) get irritatingly loud to the point where you can’t use it. The Sound & Haptics indicate they have not changed. Expected behaviourWhen casting music from the iPhone to Sonos through Airplay, I should expect to be able to easily control music volume. I should also expect system sounds to be unaffected.Actual behaviourWhen using Airplay, I can control music volume but system sounds automatically get dialled up to 10 and so any system sounds that get played through the iPhone are dangerously loud. More infoLooking at Apple and Sonos forums, this appears to be an issue since at least 1 year ago with no fix in sight. I’d really like Sonos or Apple to look into it since it completely ruins the experience and makes me question the amount I spent setting up the sound system.I have no issues when using the Sonos app but I much prefer to u
I have connected my Sony PS-LX310BT Turntable via Bluetooth to Sonos Move. Both devices say they are connected yet when I play a record no sound comes out of the Sonos move speaker, please can someone help ?
I have 4 Sonos ceiling speakers with individual wires going back to a Sonos amp. Unfortunately the speaker wire for the speaker furthest from the amp got damaged during the building works, resulting in only 3 speakers working. I can’t take a new wire all the way back to the amp from the broken position- due to newly plastered ceiling, 15 metres length and ceiling joists going in wrong direction, etc. Could I run a speaker wire across to the nearest other ceiling speaker and bridge from that one (approx 3 metres), instead of running all the way back to the amp? That way 3 ceiling speakers would be connected to the amp and one would be connected to another ceiling speaker. Happy to hear other ideas on I could get all 4 speakers working without too much destruction!
my sonos port is connected to my nad amp sonos port line out to tape line in on amp . the sound is bad and volume goes up and down
Short story:I split my system to S1 & S2 now I can’t connect to the Bridge via my iPhone. The bridge has an IP address and I can ping it, I can also get to the webserver on the bridge (http://10.1.1.111:1400/status)The network lights are flashing on the back ok (tried both ports). I saw this post but that didn’t help: Started off with S1 running: Bridge (I’ve got a wide house), Play:1, Play:3 x 2 + Sub, Play:5, Play:5, Connect:AmpI then removed Bridge (replaced with Boost), Connect:Amp, & both Play:5 devices (non-S2 compatible); added 2 new Play:5 devices (waiting for delivery of new Amp). S2 all set up ok. Delighted.I reset the Bridge and Play:5, then tried adding it again. It seemed to add ok and whilst I can see it in the app, I also see “Unable to connect to Sonos” at the top of my iPhone screen. I also see no lights on the top of the Bridge (the show light option is set on in the phone app).I have also tried wiring a Play:5 direct to the router but that doesn’t work.
Sonos amp stopped working, out of warranty. Took the unit apart and found a blown chip, but the top was missing so unable to identify the chip. Can anyone either tell me what the chip is, or if they have one in pieces take a picture of component U3, next to C19 and C17.
