I have 7 Sonos speakers. I am having trouble adding a speaker to my office. I can add it but it drops out after about 1 minute or less. If I move it to another area in the home I have no problems and it maintains a connection. I purchased a new one as I didn’t realize it could be the room and thought the older one (1 year old) was just glitchy. IT is the room where the router is located. Any tips? I am not super techie… Nicole
It seems to be an airplay related issue. If I airplay to the pair, they will sometimes just disappear. From the sonos app, from the list of airplay audio sinks - just gone. All my sonos products are wired: My Beam, both Ones - the Beam hasn’t had a single issue. The Pair of ones just sporadically decides that they’ve done their duty and patiently wait for me to crawl behind the cabinet to powercycle them. Without intervention, they reappear after about 5 minutes as unconfigured (?+R). If I wait for another ~10-20 minutes, they are back to normal.I have looked at the support info on port 1400. Interestingly, the left One is completely unresponsive: pings time out, it’s naturally gone from the connection matrix. Any ideas what this could be? The logs say nothing.
I have been struggling with this for some time. I’ve recently replaced my home WiFi with the latest NetGear Wifi 6e at a hefty price. I’ve played with positions. I’ve filed a support request and set a fixed channel on the Sonos. When all speaker are engaged there is constant drop outs and reconnects. Today I’ve had a specific problem that is puzzling. All speakers in the same room:TV Room w/ ARC, Sub, two Ones to make a surround Sonos One Independent Sonos One IndependentBy Independent I mean not stereo paired. When playing music on the TV Room and trying to add either Sonos One Independent it says “Unable to connect to device. Try again later.” I can select either Sonos One and play music on it. I can add the Sonos One’s and play music on those without issue. If I try to add the TV Room it again says “Unable to connect to device. Try again later.” So obviously all devices *can* play music. But putting them together to play the same music fails (the entire point of Sonos!).
I have a SYMFONISK bookshelf that constantly has problems connecting and playing music in wifi.I now have an ethernet connection to plug into it. I did a factory reset to start the whole process from the beginning. But now in the Sonos app I can’t delete the old system as it’s grayed out under the System setting. If I try the “Let’s fix it” it tries to walk me through connecting to the speaker’s internal network but it won't connect no matter if it’s connected with the ethernet or not. I tried to sign into my Sonos account online and just delete the system there but I can’t see a way to delete it. So basically how in the world do you just start from scratch with a system that has already been in the app. It seems so simple but it isn’t. My experience with this product has been terrible so I wonder is it just a bad single product or is this indicative of the Sonos experience. Seems overly complicated on many ways.
I use a Playbar with two Play 1 speakers as rears, (the Playbar is plugged into the router) and am hearing slight drop outs in audio that is labelled as Dolby Digital 2.0. I’m watching on an LG TV, with digital output set to “Auto”.This happens from a variety of sources, including an Nvidia Shield and the BBC iPlayer app on the TV. The problem seems to disppear if I select the digital output on the TV to “PCM”, but I am loathe to do this, as it will impact all audio the TV outputs and DTS, etc will be compromised unless I change the setting each time.I know there have been a few threads on this in the past, but all the ones I’ve read seem to be years old and have fizzled out without a solution - is this just an issue that Sonos never fixed? I’d like to add a subwoofer at some point soon, but not if this issue is still unresolved. Thanks in advance.
Hey, I’m deepest music lover and artist. I want to add sonos music on backeend of my editing video Which I made with Alight Motion Application. I have attached sonos music with my video but when I start to play it the it start Stuck when I play It. Can I need to attached Any HDMI cable With the my phone to tranfer sonos sound in it?Waiting to your responce. Thanks.
As many of you already know there there are a good amount of problems with this new update.. I never had an issue before with voice or dialog before the update and the bass was pumping. That is pretty much the reason why I spent over 3 grand on my system. I wouldn't spend $500 on this system in its current condition. I get better bass response out of my bookshelf speakers. After spending almost 2 hours on the phone with Tech Support uninstalling, reinstalling and updating everything everything absolutely nothing has changed. I hope they get this figured out in a timely manner and get it back to at least as good as it was before this update otherwise I foresee a class action lawsuit in the making.
Since the last two days, the Sonos app (on my Imac) reads a title coming from Deezer for a minute or so and then suddenly stops the music and says that the title or file is not correctly coded and jumps to the other title. It does that with 2 out of 3 title that I listen, whatever I am listening to. Never had that message before. Didn’t change Deezer app or Sonos app. Only thing I did was updating Sonos app about a month ago to the latest update.
I have a Sonos Ray hooked up to a TCL Roku TV.I like it a lot ~ but have 2 problems that did not exist before the soundbar. 1)The Volume Level is not displayed on the TV.2)The Volume does not increase when you hold it down. You need to keep pressing it.Is that correct. If I upgraded and got a Beam with an HDMI cable will that solve the problem?
No changes at all on my end, but last week while listening to our regular local radio station (KBCS 91.3) via TuneIn, my Sonos system will suddenly play the BBC instead of the radio station feed.Right in the middle of the music it will just switch over. 😖KBCS is a local station that plays mostly music. I don’t even have the BBC on my list of stations. The station’s live stream is just fine. If I listen to the station via TuneIn on my phone it’s fine. But on my Sonos it suddenly plays the BBC. it doesn’t do this to any other radio station I listen to. I removed The Station from my presets. I restarted my router. Still doing it. Very depressing as we listen to this station for many hours a week and can’t get the signal clearly on the radio tuner. Thanks
Hi… One room in my system has been acting up recently :(I assume it’s some kind of wireless interference, but I have been unable to pinpoint it myself. How do I open or find an existing support ticket to add more information so I can get help?I was trying to reach out while I have time to get a diag. and the issue is actively going on, but support@sonos.com kicks back an auto-reply and chat support is unavailable.I started a chat the other day and was asked to reset my Office speakers, which helped then, but now I can’t join Office to other rooms. There’s lots of information in that ticket, but I can’t locate it in my account and I never got an email followup. I assume it was closed. Can someone at Sonos please look up this ticket and contact me either here or by email? Here’s another diagnostics: 1202345315Thanks!
When I purchased my first speaker in 2011, I was so excited for this product. Ever since sonos 2, it's been nothing but a pain in the ass. Developers have ruined this system and customer service is PATHETIC. I'M ABOUT TO START A CLASS ACTION SUIT against this company. This product is now a lemon and thousands of dollars down the drain because of piss poor development and irresponsible management. Hate this product now.
I have a number of songs where Sonos does not recognise the artist from the field in iTunes, and some more where it doesn’t recognise either the song name or artist - in which case it just shows up as a file name in the Sonos playlists.Good examples below - two tracks from the same artist, Avicii (may he rest in peace). As you can see the set up in iTunes is identical - yet in Sonos, for one track the information is received fine, but not recognised at all for the othr. Thoughts/comments/suggestions?
I have worked with Sonos techs on and off for over two years because my 8 sonos gen 1 speakers would constantly drop and skip and be generally a disaster. This was a new problem vs the 10 years I started collecting Sonos speakers. My diagnostics always checked out. I was ready to completely abandon Sonos. I felt like I was being forced into the new Sonos 2 system. I bought a fairly inexpensive sonos boost and that didn’t help either. THEN it occurred to me that the weak link was not the Sonos system or my high speed internet connection but the quality of the feed the stream service was giving me and sure enough it was.Amazon music skips stutters and drops but when I tried other stream services like Sonos Radio or Pandora or TuneIn or Spotify there were zero drops. Audio plays flawlessly. For me AMAZON MUSIC IS BAD NEWS AND GIVES ME A BAD FEED ON SONOS. I’m not sure if it’s a sonos thing or Amazon thing but currently anything else other than Amazon Music on Sonos is what works well for
Has anyone else had an awful experience doing a return/replacement?
What is up with these clowns? It’s been over two months, have not been able to receive a refund for a product I never received. This is after I, the customer, called through to ask about status and get in touch with local delivery carriers. I have a clown named Nicole who’s the “director of sales” “helping” me. I’m so annoyed and frustrated that I’d rather just stick to my native tv speakers.
Same issue as everyone else from past two years.Nothing works.Uninstalled, added again, etc.Maddening
Not sure how the latest beta software was Road tested but it should have definitely been mentioned when the beta was on ho poor it was. It may well have improved the dialogue on the arc but not at the expense of the quality sound & booming bass that we had before & my volume had to go fro roughly 25% to now nearer 40% volume. The last arc that I had last year when I was involved in beta trials died as a result of the beta so much so that sonos deemed it as faulty & replaced it. Today I spoke to someone about my roam & although it was never a boomer it still had a good bass if put it up to about +10 . Please we definitely need to get our sound back to its previous levels I think I’d sooner be fighting with the remote control to turn the sound up & down as opposed to losing levels
Hi, I’m hoping someone can help. I’ve had several Sonos components for years. I leave the radio on a low volume setting for our dog when I go to work. Today I left him for 6 hours to come home and find the volume on our Sonos Amp on full volume. The dog is a total mess and playing back our cctv footage the audio can be heard outside the house on the cameras about 1 min after I leave the house. Is there anyway of finding out how this happened through any logs potentially? Thanks.
First off, all but two devices (surrounds for my Beam) are wired into my network. 2.4GHz Wifi is pretty much useless here due to interference - its a 166 unit condo tower. 5GHz is of limited use due to all the steel and concrete restricting range. Six of my Sonos devices are on S1, a lone gifted device is S2 only and currently a door stop because of it. The network infrastructure consists of an older high end 3x3 Wifi router with 3x managed switches, 1x dumb switch, and dozens of wired devices. Among those devices are two Sony Airplay capable systems which unlike the flakey Sonos setup have never, ever, been a problem.Everything sort of worked (issues with latency/pair sync and drop outs, but it all talked) until my Connect died. After disconnecting the Connect (which looks like it needs re-capping, but I’m in no hurry), all but one of my S1 speakers immediately stopped working. I power cycled everything and one more speaker started working. I performed a factory reset on the most acce
I replaced my router with a new one, and named the wireless network same as before. Android S2 could not “Find System” even though the Play 1’s were connected wirelessly to my router. The app will not allow you to go into system to update the network password. I pulled a play 1 down and plugged it into ethernet and only then did S2 unlock the other functions of the settings and recognize my system and the other Play 1’s. I wanted to update the network and deleted my old one since the password had changed, but “Find System” fails to produce any results or move forward. What’s worse now is that none of the Play 1’s will connect to my router now (and yes, I have reboot them many times.) they still will not connect. What is stranger still is that when I unplug the ethernet, the S2 locks up and only presents “lets fix it” and navigates to the same “Find System” that doesn’t work. When I plug in the ethernet to the Play 1 I pulled down it’ll recognize the system and settings. Stranger still
Hi All this is a strange one recently been having problems with loss of sound through beam 2 and also the tv speakers when beam sound cuts out power cycle of both tv and beam resets it and all is fine again for hours at a time with the sound until randomly it happens again this led to a replacement beam via my retailer but issue is still there so retailer also had tv motherboard replaced a few days ago but guess what loss of sound again tonight this time tv rebooted itself and sound returned to normal function again either via beam or tv speakers tv is LG 65BX OLED, beam connected using beam own hdmi cable to earc connector TV set to ‘pass through’ for atmos content etcany ideas what is going on here ?thanks for any input
I am trying to use my rotel amp as a source selector to connect a tape deck, TT and cd player to my sonos amp using the rotel pre out but getting no sound. Any ideas what I am missing?
Pretty frequently, my two paired Play 3’s will drop the stereo pairing and just both play one channel (either both left or both right), and I have to re-add the stereo pair. This only happens when playing through my Connect. This happens at least twice a month, but I’ve never actually been sitting in the room listening when it goes down, so I tried to capture a Diagnostic ticket in the moment.Diagnostic 1730205163After capturing the ticket, I separated the pair and tried to re-add. Sonos couldn’t “find” the Left speaker - which is the one plugged into the router. Then, all of my speakers disappeared. Luckily, this happens frequently enough that I know all I have to do is go, room by room, and unplug all my speakers, recycle my router, and then go room by room and plug them all back in. Easy peasy! Before anyone can say “interference”, I’ll say it again: the Connect and the router are in the same room, less than 12 feet between them, direct line of sight. The router is a TP-Link Archer A9
I have 2 Sonos devices connected to the same router. Issues:Most mornings, when I want to listen to music, the Sonos Amp does not work but the Sonos One does work. Sometimes both stop working.Testing:After writing this post, I have decided to assign static IP’s to my 2 Sonos devices to see if there are any improvements. I have to wait a few days to confirm. Solution (Annoying!):I unplug the Sonos Amp and/or Sonos Play:1 but this is frustrating obviously I want to fix that. I cannot use ethernet cables as they are 5-10m from the router plus WiFi is supposed to work. My systems (2 items):Sonos Connect:Amp (1st gen) connected via 2.4 Ghz « Where most of the issues occur. Sonos Play:1 connected via 5 Ghz Both systems are updated. Routers:TP-Link Archer AX10 Firmware updated Wireless Router (EWAN) (note: I reckon Access Point does not work.) I have 8 clients connected but most of the time maximum 4 are active mostly laptops and phones. Most clients are connected to the 5 Ghz band while
