Advanced setups

I have a  Sonos system comprised of 4 listening areas. I recently added a turntable, and shortly will be connecting a hard drive or NAS with all of my digitized CD’s for ease of play and organization.  Here is my current home set-up.Area One area has a Sonos Port connected to a vintage Sansui AU-D9 integrated amplifier/TV/my own speakers. Area Two has a Sonos Port connected to a Pro-ject turntable-turntable preamp and a Marantz 7025 Power Amp or NAD C268 Power Amp. Area Three has a Sonos Amp connected to TV/my own 4 speakers, and,Area Four has 2 Sonos One speakers. I’ve been considering a Preamplifier to use with the Power Amps in Area two. Would I need a dedicated Preamplifier in this set-up, or would my Sonos Port App function as the Preamplifier? i have a room that is 30’ by 15’ with a TV at one end, playbar mounted directly under.I then have 4 Sonos 1’s  - Two at the far (opposite) end and two mid way on either wall. How do i setup the rooms, surrounds etc to get the best sound?Currently i get a lot of latency and echo.  

Recently purchased Amp to replace old stereo receiver and add floor speakers into the Sonos system. Used the ethernet hookup that had connected to receiver. No other Sonos products are connected via ethernet. Also have Home theatre with Arc, 2-Ones, 2-Sub gen3, a dining room with Ones in stereo connection, and Master bedroom with Fives in stereo connection, and Move in kitchen. In connecting the Amp to ethernet am I in effect removing entire Sonos system from wifi and creating a separate Sonos net network? We have excellent wifi coverage. Is it best to remove Amp from the ethernet connection. This statement in Sonos support seems to suggest I am bypassing my home wifi network:“Hardwiring any Sonos product with a built-in Ethernet port will switch the entire Sonos system into a wired setup, in which Sonos create

Hello All!I would like to connect the Victoria Stream  turntable to my very old Sonos Play 1 and Play 3 system (circa 2013). Can this be done without buying the sonos port or sonos amplifier?  Victra website says yea but they mention Sonos One, not Sonos Play 1 which is different. Thanks for your help!Michelle 

Just passing on a tip that will hopefully save someone a few frustrating hours.I moved a sub from one room to another with an Amp.  The iOSApp did the move perfectly.  Music worked initially but then dropped.  Performing a factory reset a couple of times would bring the sub back each time but would then drop minutes later.  Initially the eero 6 unit was next to the sub and another article said 1m separation was needed.  That was not the issue.The root cause was too much distance between the sub and the Amp that were paired/coupled.  I switched the sub to a wired port on the eero unit and also connected the Amp to a wired connection.  Works perfectly now.  Not sure what the maximum allowed distance is but the Amp is located in a metal rack in an attic closet on the second floor on different side of the house.

We have multiple speakers for every system.Hotel reception Restaurant 1 Restaurant 2 Conference center Gym Spa etc...What is the best most efficient way to set this up?Create a different wireless network/VLAN for every location? Can I have all speakers and locations on the same Wifi network?Do I need to create a different Sonos account for every location?Thank you for your help!!

Hello all! I have a new sonos amp and want to run 3 speakers. They are all on one wall, so I would like the left side to be left, the right side to be right, and the center to be both.  Can I do this, and if yes, how do I wire the third (center) speaker?

Hi. I have two five speakers connected in pair stereo. I have  connected a diferent source to every speaker, Tv and a turntable, but I would like to control wich source to listen if both of them are working.

I have a Kurzweil keyboard and would like to send its output into my existing Sonos system. I tried to plug it into the input jack of my Sonos 5, but get delay and poor sound. Any suggestions?

I understand the line-in feature (on some Sonos products) has latency and is not intended for live music or as a PA system. I further understand the latency is necessary for perfectly synchronized multi-room audio from a potential variety of sources (which Sonos does better than anyone else).With that understood, has anyone tried hosting a house party where there is a live band or DJ (e.g. playing holiday music) using an appropriate non-Sonos PA system, and in an area (for “enjoying the band/DJ”) that is separated from Sonos speakers (except one with line-in and zero output volume). Then the Sonos devices “throughout the house” are rebroadcasting the live audio (albeit delayed) as “background” music. … If you have tried a set-up like this, did it work well? How was the sound? What did you use to bridge the band/DJ’s output to the Sonos line-in?

I have a multi-room Sonos system in my vacation house.  The current setup is that theSonos system is on the primary network for the house, which also has access to Lutron, Crestron, Nest, etc.  I do have a secondary network in the house for guests to use (separate name/separate password).  I would like to give guests access to Sonos, without access to the other systems.  Is it possible to set up Sonos to look at two different networks for a control signal (not at the same time, of course)?

 This question was raised about 2 years ago for the original Move but I don’t know if things should have been sorted for the latest ERA speakers in stereo mode . I use pair of ERA 300 for music only in stereo mode .  How can I enable both speakers to work in stereo mode via Bluetooth without resorting to switching on  each speaker individually ?  Thanks 

Trying to add a Boost (2019 version) to my existing system. I have cabled the boost but it can’t be found when I try to add it through the S2 app.I have one existing speaker cabled - this is needed cause otherwise of of the speakers don’t connect. However, I don’t need a speaker close (and wired) to my router hence going for the Boost.If I turn off my speakers the Boost is recognized by the app - but then I can’t add my existing setup.Any idea what’s wrong?Thanks, Lars

 I am a simple noob and kind of slow with all things electronics. Here's my simple question: I'm considering an $85 Wiim Mini or a $140 Wiim Pro streamer to attach to my existing home stereo setup so that it shows in AirPlay on iOS along with my Sonos speakers when I want to stream music or podcasts throughout the house. I have a pair of Sonos Ones and a Sonos Sub Mini, and I use AirPlay 2 (not the Sonos app) to stream music and podcasts. *All I want to do is add my home stereo setup to AirPlay so that I can have synced whole-house audio.* Will a Wiim Mini (or the Pro) get me there? My wife has a degenerative neuronal disease and accesses her apps and communicates through an eye movement enable tablet running windows. I can put to Sonos app onto it and she can move the cursor with her eye gaze but can’t get the app to recognise that she wants to action an instruction, like choosing playlists, stopping and starting play, etc. Anyone had this and knows of a solution? ThanksCorky Cordo

I’m wondering if anyone knows whether the Sonos Port can connect to a Harman Kardon HK 3390 receiver through its IR in and out ports, so the receiver could be controlled to turn on and off power, set volume. I note the Port has a capability to support switching on a receiver, but I can’t find specs for the IR ports for the HK 3390 and I just don’t know if the Port and HK 3390 are using a common standard or whether there is a simple adapter of some kind, if they don’t.

We have a number of Sonos products, all S2, and currently all on one wifi network, and on the same Sonos system.However, we want to split off some of these into a separate Sonos system, still on the same wifi network.From other threads, this looks possible, but by having two phones, each with it’s own system registered.My question is - can a single phone have the Sonos app, and switch between the two different Sonos systems, or do we need separate phones?

I have just set up 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units connected to my Virgin hub (now as a modem rather than a router) My 2 SONOS 5 speakers no longer connect by wifi. If I hardwire one SONOS 5 to the first Deco with an ethernet cable I can get it to work but I am unclear how I would connect the other. On line help is a bit uncertain about what can be done. If I add a network switch to the first Deco does that mean I have more ports that act as if they were part of the main Deco and so will support 2 SONOS 5's? Probably a question I need to direct at TP-Link. i.e. If I add the switch and plug my Sonos speakers into two if these network switch ports will they work? I ask before I purchase a switch and drill 15" holes through two walls to enable hard wiring of the SONOS 5's Do I have other options? I thought having Deco mesh would solve my wifi issues but more have developed! [My previous Powerline extenders had failed

Hello, folks. I have an existing home theatre system, as well as a few Sonos Ones in other rooms. I’m considering adding a Sonos Beam for my TV and also considering adding one of the Sonos connectivity devices (Port/Connect/Amp/Connect:Amp) to integrate the systems. I’m a bit overwhelmed with the options and I’m unsure how they can all connect.  My existing components consist of: LG CX TV (with eARC) Denon 2308 AV Amp/Receiver (no eARC) 2 x Bookshelf speakers Turnable (no preamp) PS5 2 x Sonos One in other, separate, rooms.  I’m not fully convinced I need a Beam, and I don’t necessarily need the bookshelf speakers. I’m open to using one or the other, or both. If the Beam is in place, I’m not sure if having the the bookshelf speakers would enhance the audio that much. Ideally, I would like:To play the turntable through the Sonos Ones, as well as either the bookshelf sp

I have a Marantz NR1604 with B&W 5.1 setup in my living room. I also have a pair of B&W M1’s in my kitchen, bedroom, and office all wired back to the receiver. Each room was previously connected to the receiver pre-out with an Aiyima A07 amp. I wanted something a little higher grade that would also allow me to AirPlay to an individual room with ease, so I picked up 3 Sonos Amp’s. Last night I configured one and connected it to the pre-out of my Marantz. It *seemed* like it was working OK. Then today I configured another one of the Amp’s and now there is a very noticeable delay versus my 5.1 living room. Is it possible to use SONOS as an output of a DJ software, for instance?

My old Mac died.  I redirected and found everything in Sonos from the new Mac EXCEPT that I now have three Recently Added folders.    There’s only one showing in Apple Music.    I can’t see any way to find where these are from to delete the two I don’t want.Any ideas?  

I recently switched my service provider from FIOS to Xfinity. My Sonos system worked for about 24 hours then disconnects and will not reconnect. No issue for 8 years when connected to FIOS.
