Advanced setups

I have a multi-room Sonos system in my vacation house.  The current setup is that theSonos system is on the primary network for the house, which also has access to Lutron, Crestron, Nest, etc.  I do have a secondary network in the house for guests to use (separate name/separate password).  I would like to give guests access to Sonos, without access to the other systems.  Is it possible to set up Sonos to look at two different networks for a control signal (not at the same time, of course)?

 This question was raised about 2 years ago for the original Move but I don’t know if things should have been sorted for the latest ERA speakers in stereo mode . I use pair of ERA 300 for music only in stereo mode .  How can I enable both speakers to work in stereo mode via Bluetooth without resorting to switching on  each speaker individually ?  Thanks 

Trying to add a Boost (2019 version) to my existing system. I have cabled the boost but it can’t be found when I try to add it through the S2 app.I have one existing speaker cabled - this is needed cause otherwise of of the speakers don’t connect. However, I don’t need a speaker close (and wired) to my router hence going for the Boost.If I turn off my speakers the Boost is recognized by the app - but then I can’t add my existing setup.Any idea what’s wrong?Thanks, Lars

 I am a simple noob and kind of slow with all things electronics. Here's my simple question: I'm considering an $85 Wiim Mini or a $140 Wiim Pro streamer to attach to my existing home stereo setup so that it shows in AirPlay on iOS along with my Sonos speakers when I want to stream music or podcasts throughout the house. I have a pair of Sonos Ones and a Sonos Sub Mini, and I use AirPlay 2 (not the Sonos app) to stream music and podcasts. *All I want to do is add my home stereo setup to AirPlay so that I can have synced whole-house audio.* Will a Wiim Mini (or the Pro) get me there? Thanks. 

My wife has a degenerative neuronal disease and accesses her apps and communicates through an eye movement enable tablet running windows. I can put to Sonos app onto it and she can move the cursor with her eye gaze but can’t get the app to recognise that she wants to action an instruction, like choosing playlists, stopping and starting play, etc. Anyone had this and knows of a solution? ThanksCorky Cordo

I’m wondering if anyone knows whether the Sonos Port can connect to a Harman Kardon HK 3390 receiver through its IR in and out ports, so the receiver could be controlled to turn on and off power, set volume. I note the Port has a capability to support switching on a receiver, but I can’t find specs for the IR ports for the HK 3390 and I just don’t know if the Port and HK 3390 are using a common standard or whether there is a simple adapter of some kind, if they don’t.

We have a number of Sonos products, all S2, and currently all on one wifi network, and on the same Sonos system.However, we want to split off some of these into a separate Sonos system, still on the same wifi network.From other threads, this looks possible, but by having two phones, each with it’s own system registered.My question is - can a single phone have the Sonos app, and switch between the two different Sonos systems, or do we need separate phones?

I have just set up 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units connected to my Virgin hub (now as a modem rather than a router) My 2 SONOS 5 speakers no longer connect by wifi. If I hardwire one SONOS 5 to the first Deco with an ethernet cable I can get it to work but I am unclear how I would connect the other. On line help is a bit uncertain about what can be done. If I add a network switch to the first Deco does that mean I have more ports that act as if they were part of the main Deco and so will support 2 SONOS 5's? Probably a question I need to direct at TP-Link. i.e. If I add the switch and plug my Sonos speakers into two if these network switch ports will they work? I ask before I purchase a switch and drill 15" holes through two walls to enable hard wiring of the SONOS 5's Do I have other options? I thought having Deco mesh would solve my wifi issues but more have developed! Hello, folks. I have an existing home theatre system, as well as a few Sonos Ones in other rooms. I’m considering adding a Sonos Beam for my TV and also considering adding one of the Sonos connectivity devices (Port/Connect/Amp/Connect:Amp) to integrate the systems. I’m a bit overwhelmed with the options and I’m unsure how they can all connect.  My existing components consist of: LG CX TV (with eARC) Denon 2308 AV Amp/Receiver (no eARC) 2 x Bookshelf speakers Turnable (no preamp) PS5 2 x Sonos One in other, separate, rooms.  I’m not fully convinced I need a Beam, and I don’t necessarily need the bookshelf speakers. I’m open to using one or the other, or both. If the Beam is in place, I’m not sure if having the the bookshelf speakers would enhance the audio that much. Ideally, I would like:To play the turntable through the Sonos Ones, as well as either the bookshelf speakers, the Beam or both at the same time.  To play TV / PS5 audio through bookshelf speakers, Beam, or both at the same

Hi,is it still possible to downgrade SMB on a Synology DSM 7.2.64570 update 3 so it will work with Sonos V1? So far I’m still on 7.1.1 with a downgraded SMB service 4.15.9-0642 but I would like to use the new features of 7.2 for my photo collection that is on the same NAS as my music.Cheers

I have a Marantz NR1604 with B&W 5.1 setup in my living room. I also have a pair of B&W M1’s in my kitchen, bedroom, and office all wired back to the receiver. Each room was previously connected to the receiver pre-out with an Aiyima A07 amp. I wanted something a little higher grade that would also allow me to AirPlay to an individual room with ease, so I picked up 3 Sonos Amp’s. Last night I configured one and connected it to the pre-out of my Marantz. It *seemed* like it was working OK. Then today I configured another one of the Amp’s and now there is a very noticeable delay versus my 5.1 living room. I stumbled upon this old comment which I think answers why: When SONOS players are “Grouped” there is a 75ms latency. The latency is reduced to about 30ms for the TV connected to PLAYBAR/BEAM/ARC/RAY/PLAYBASE/AMP.So once I added the additional Amp to my system, then the delay more than doubled and became noticeable. Is it possible to use SONOS as an output of a DJ software, for instance?

My old Mac died.  I redirected and found everything in Sonos from the new Mac EXCEPT that I now have three Recently Added folders.    There’s only one showing in Apple Music.    I can’t see any way to find where these are from to delete the two I don’t want.Any ideas?  

I recently switched my service provider from FIOS to Xfinity. My Sonos system worked for about 24 hours then disconnects and will not reconnect. No issue for 8 years when connected to FIOS.

So far I have2 play1 (the old model)One Sub (gen 2)BeamBut I am thinking, because of changing up the livingroom, of buying 2 Play One SL. but is it possible to connect all of that.? So that will be:2 play one SL as front speakers2 play 1 as rear speakersBeam in front of the TVand the SUB Alternative: 4 play one SL? it that an option?  

I have a large home.  I’d like to setup my game room and outdoor tv on separate Sonos systems from the main system in my living room.  Also, have these all on at the same time (football season parties with multiple games on).is this possible?  Or do I need to put them on different Wi-Fi networks?  I can install routers to create multiple networks.thanks!

I would like to play CD’s or ripped CD’s to my SONOS system. Everyone answers JUST STREAM the music (GIVE UP playing ancient CD’s!) As SONOS has moved into the Ultra HD music environment, I would like to play a CD. The Port, Connect Five AMP all have multiple functions aside from connecting a CD player. I can use the DVD player through the TV, but that’s annoying. I just discovered the BRENNAN B3 and it does pretty much what I would like to do. Play CD, rip CDs and stream. Has anyone used and like the B3? Are there other high audio quality units like this. I have copied most of my CDs to WIndows PC in .WAV format. I would like to play this music and take advantage of the new quality levels of SONOS ARC, ERA300’s and SUB I purchased. 

I have a newly installed Unifi setup. My Sonos works perfectly in all rooms, but the app seems to lose rooms occasionally. Playback isn’t affected and everything works perfectly from a hardware perspective, it’s just i cannot control them from the app from time to time.It’s very intermittent and seems to have something to do with my phone roaming between access points. Sometimes if i move to another access point, then the sonos app finds everything again.Is there a setting i am missing? Everything else on my network works perfectly. I have been chatting to support but they can’t help. it’s the usual story of reset this etc… never works. Case numbe4r is 0545883. Hi all,Since a couple a weeks ago i have constant problems with sonos speakers gets status not connected randomly.  I have Google Nest Wifi mesh with one router and one AP this setup have worked perfectly before so not really sure whats causes this.My Sonos setup:2 playbars with play 1 as sorround and  sub 2 play one 1 play 32 standalone play 12 roam I have tried to connected the playbars with ethernet just to see if Sonosnet would solve the problem but that didnt help 😪still the same problem.so I just want to check if any one else have this problems,  and if its a Google Nest Wifi problem or a sonos problem ?    

Looking to help my brother with a Sonos set up. He has a Sony TV in his living room and two ceiling speakers in his adjacent kitchen (wired to basement). He would like to be able to say, for example, to his Alexa device (Echo or Refrigerator) to play the sound from the TV into the Kitchen.  How can this best be done?I was thinking he may need to get a Sonos Arc for the TV room and a Sonos Amp to power the ceiling speakers. The Arc could always be used for when watching TV and he could optionally enable the Sonos Amp / ceiling speakers in the kitchen when he wants to. Is there an easy way for him to be able to enable/disable playing the TV through the kitchen speakers? (It is not really practical to run new / additional cables.) And it would be ideal to be able to say Alexa play the TV through the Kitchen speakers or something like that.Thanks in advance for your support and ideas. 

I have a large living area (irregularly shaped) with 10 built-in speakers spread throughout the space, not obviously arranged in any right or left pattern.What is the best way to power these speakers and integrate with Sonos? Do I need to buy 5 Amps? Buy 1 and add an amplifier (but then can I control the volume of the amplifier with the app)? Do I just somewhat-randomly connect the 10 speakers to left and right?

how do i configure my acr + sub (gen 3) + 2 era 300 so when i connect my macbook pro laptop to my LG C1 tv using an hdmi cable to play my itunes music through all the speakes?  Currently the music is only coming out of the arc speaker. when playing music. I currently have the living room set up as a home theatre system.  Is there a way to use the speakers as another room so I can select the room configuration I want to use when listening to different sources? Like having a theatre room set up and then having a music room set up using the same speakers?thanks,mitch
