For TV audio with Sonos, you must connect the TV audio to either a Sonos Arc, Beam, or Amp. That device will also be responsible for playing all the front channels of audio. For rear audio channels, you would need a pair of Sonos Ones, One SL, Fives, or a Sonos amp (not the same as used for front channels). For a Sub you can use one or two Sonos subs, or if using a Sonos amp for the front, a 3rd party active sub.
Specifically on the amp, It is used to power normal passive speakers, speakers that don’t have an amp built in. Sonos speakers all have their own amp built in, so they do require or work with the Sonos amp they way you are thinking (or how it sounds like). With the amp, you would normally connect just a pair of passive speakers, but you can connect 2 pair of 8 ohm speakers, or 3 pair of the Sonance speakers sold on this site. You can also use a speaker switch for more speakers.
Given the above, you can’t use Sonos Fives for the front speakers, only for the rear. You can use Fives for music, pretty much as much as you want.
Are you able to access behind walls and ceiling in your space? Are you hoping to get good home theatre audio for the space, or more concerned about getting stereo quality audio all over the space?
Worth noting:
-When you pack a lot of people in a room, wireless communication suffers due to all that water. It makes a big difference when trying to get audio to play in sync wirelessly. I would definitely wire the speakers and amps via cat 5/speaker wire for that space.
-Sonos is designed for home networks, not office networks. There may be special configurations that need to happen, depending on how your office is setup.
-Sonos is not a PA system. Anything connect to the aux input on an Amp or Five will be buffered, rather than played immediately. So you can’t stick a mic to it and use it for presentations if that was one of your system requirements. Same sort if issue happens if you want a DJ for your parties.
Thx for such a good answer.
I now understand my question was quite stupid since I had little knowledge .
No question is stupid, when seeking additional knowledge ;)
