Stereo pair for TV with Alexa

Good morning,
I would like to create a stereo pair for the TV at home.
I like the Sonos Era, but I would also like the Alexa voice assistant.
Can I buy a Sonos Era 100 and a Sonos Era 100SL? Or should I get two SONOS Era 100?
Thank you.

As to creating a stereo pair for TV audio the previous posts have answered that question.

Now as far as creating a stereo pair for music using an Era 100 and Era 100SL the answer is “yes”. To have Alexa voice assistant you would activate it on the Era 100.

The delay involved with the line in will be a challenge. You probably should be considering a Sonos soundbar, which is designed for TV connection, rather than Sonos speakers that are not.

The “SL” designation means the speaker has no microphone.  So voice assistance would have to be executed on an Alexa device.  You would have to specify the ERA 100 pair room name in the Alexa request.  Something like “Alexa. Play music in the Livingroom”.  That’s if the 100s room name is Livingroom.

A stereo pair of ERA 100 speakers would not connect directly to a TV unless you used the Sonos line in adapter.  You could also try Bluetooth, but you may have issues with dialogue sync.  For best results you would need a soundbar like the Arc, Arc Ultra or Beam 2.

I know the problems related to the delay generated by the Bluetooth connection and the audio quality.
My connection would be from the Sonos USB-C to the TV's audio jack, then a wired connection.
As for the soundbar, I can't install it for aesthetic reasons, my wife doesn't like soundbars and I think the audio quality that a pair of Eras delivers is better than a soundbar. I'm already thinking about the better stereo performance of two Eras compared to a Sonos Beam.
Thanks so much for the suggestions. You have resolved my doubts.

I think you’ll be (perhaps wildly) disappointed by the delay your Sonos speakers will experience with regards to sync with your video…and perhaps your significant other will be as well.

On the other hand, streaming music should be an outstanding experience.

There is a minimum 75ms delay on the line-in connection. You won’t be able to eliminate it and it will be annoying.
