expanding upon two sonos 5;s and a sonos mini sub

i have two  sonos 5;s connected to a mini sub in a small room but would like to expand the sound what can i add to this set up that is integrated and not  add  speakers from another domain or room under grouping

Nothing. You already have the maximum number of speakers in a ‘room’, a stereo pair plus a subwoofer. You can group any other speakers, but you’ve said you don’t want to, for whatever reason. Honestly, there’s no reason not to, when streaming music, there’s no impact, all ‘rooms’ are in sync. I listen to two sets of rooms (one a pair, one three rooms) daily. 

The only time I don’t suggest grouping is when there’s a home theater room involved.

Grouping really works well, I had 4 Sonos Rooms Grouped the other day. Since all the Sonos Rooms are in one large open-plan L shaped room the music sounded great.
