Hi. I want to install a Sonos system at my office. I need (1) speaker (it doesn’t matter the type) at front desk and (3) ceiling speakers in 3 different rooms. All (4) speakers will reproduce the same music from the same source, but I want to be able to control the volume individually in each room. What is your recommendation?

I’d encourage you to hire a professional, rather than taking random help from someone on the internet. They’d likely be able to give you quicker answers to your questions, and you’d have a recourse if the information is either incorrect or misunderstood.

That being said, there’s Sonos Amp is designed to power a stereo set of speakers, or sometime two pairs, if both sets are of the correct impedance. You might potentially go with some sort of impedance correcting volume controls, depending on your situation. The Sonos Amp can control three pairs of Sonance Architectural series speakers, which are specifically designed for such use.

For the one speaker at the front desk, I’d suggest an Sonos Era 100 speaker.

That would be a quick job for an installer and save you having to learn the components you'd have to add to the Sonos Amp to get what you want working.

It would also save you digging around in the walls and ceiling and insure the wire met your fire code. Oopsie that and it gets expensive fast!
