I want to build a system with 2 groups.

Group/Room 1 will have a tv, a turntable and two wireless 300’s and a mini sub.

Group/Room 2 will have 2 wired in wall speakers on a different zone. It is alright if the turntable plays in this zone.

So do I need 2 amps or 1? And which kind?

Can the 300’s connect to the Frame tv wirelessly or do I hdmi the tv into an amp? I don’t have a place for a soundbar.

Also is there an easy way to integrate radio?

Am I missing anything?

Thank you!

Ok, had a huge response that got lost due to forum issues. Let me condense:

Here’s what I’d do. 2 Sonos Amps, yes.

The first room, you’ll need to skip the Era 300s, and get a pair of third party speakers to connect to the Amp. The TV is connected via HDMI-ARC, the turntable is connected via line level RCA analog line in, which may require an external preamp for your turntable, if it doesn’t have a built in one. The Sub mini would be bonded to the Sonos Amp. You’d choose which input you’re listening to via the Sonos controller.

The second room, you’re fine as planned.

Not sure what you mean by ‘what kind’, Sonos only makes a single Amp.

Several companies provide radio streams in the Sonos software.

Sounds good, thank you Bruce!

Just to clarify, would the 300's not interface with the tv/room 1 amp?

Also if I turn the tv on, would it automatically play through the room 1 amp/speakers?

Sorry I thought the port was an amp but I see that mistake now.

Thanks again for your help.

You could ‘interface’ the 300s by grouping the two Sonos Rooms that they would need to exist in, but there would be a 75ms delay on the TV’s input. Streaming music, they would be in sync.

Yes, the digital (HDMI-ARC) has a ‘autoplay’ which switches to that input when it starts receiving data. It does not switch ‘back’ when the data stops, you have to manually change the input to music playback after watching the TV.

The Port is indeed slightly different 😉 Extremely useful, for different applications.

You’re most welcome!

I’ve had two similar experiences in the last 24 hours.

If you connect AMP to the TV via HDMI, passive speakers wired to AMP would become the TV’s front speakers. 300’s could be “Bonded” to AMP as surrounds. If the 300’s are not configured as surrounds there will be a time skew if you attempt to play TV audio in the 300’s. When the 300’s are “Grouped” with other Rooms playing music, there will not be a time skew.

I want to build a system with 2 groups.

Group/Room 2 will have 2 wired in wall speakers on a different zone. It is alright if the turntable plays in this zone.

You’ll need 2 amps—one for the wired speakers in Group/Room 2 and one for the 300’s and mini sub in Group/Room 1. The 300’s won’t connect directly to your Frame TV wirelessly, so you’ll need to use an AMP/receiver with HDMI or Bluetooth support. For radio, you can integrate it through a streaming device like Sonos or just use a smart speaker with radio apps. Make sure your devices are compatible with the amps you choose, and everything should sync up well across both zones.

Everyone else covered the rest.  Almost every radio station is available via streaming on Sonos.  Do a search on the app to see if the ones you listen to are there.

Thanks @jgatie …my original (and lengthy) post had covered that. Apologies to the OP for missing it on my second go-round.
