I have a stereo pair of Sonos fives, and a turntable with either Bluetooth or RCA left and rigght jacks for sound output.
Don’t seem able to pair via Bluetooth, so I was going to hook up with cables, but the sonos fives only have single 3/8 input jacks. Will I lose sound quality if I run a mono RCA-to-3.5 jack into each Sonos five?
Assuming your turntable has a built-in phono preamp, use an RCA male to 3.5mm male audio cable to connect the turntable to the line-in port on one of the Fives. This will give you stereo audio playing out of the stereo pair of Fives from the turntable.
As stated, you only need to connect to one Line-In on a stereo pair. And no, there is not a loss of quality.
As you found out the Five’s do not do bluetooth.

Apparently it does not have a pre-amp, because nothing comes out of the Sonos Fives when I connect it to them.

Are you selecting the Line-In as a source?
What make and model turntable?
