So I connected a audio technica atlp 120-usb turntable to an existing group that consists of 2 sonos fives and a sub 3. The connection used was line in to the right five. It works. Almost. I get great sound from the left five and the sub but not the connected right five. Weird…

Can any of you kind folks shed light on this and how to get pair of fives to work together?

Thanks

Or the cable being used to convert from stereo RCA is only mono on the 3.5 mm side

Often this is simply the 3.5 mm plug not being fully seated. Make sure it is pushed down to where the plug body is touching the socket.

If the previous suggestions don’t resolve your issue try this….

Remove the line-in and verify that the Fives are still operating as a stereo pair. If all good use the line-in on the left Five.

@Breadmittens

And just for the case it’s not an cable issue, I recommend to set audio comression in Sonos apps general settings to „compressed“. If it’s not a stereo pair and in fact you „group“ the fives, please try to use the option „delay for groups“ in line in options and use a higher delay.
