Just found out my $500 Turntable purchased from Sonos doesn't reset the tone arm at the end of the album. It just spins and clicks, potentially damaging the needle. You’d think they would let you know this.. So basically I have to be right on top of it...And the hits just keep on coming!

Can’t remember the last high quality turntable I bought that offered any automatic functions, all that adds stuff that can impact the sound quality.
There are many decent automatic or semi-automatic turntables out there if that is what you want.

There’s no such thing as a “Sonos Turntable” because Sonos doesn’t make a turntable. The turntables they sell are manufactured and supported by Pro-Ject.
+18Just take a look at your turntables manual to find out if that is the normal functionality or not. If not, call Sonos and ask for replacement as they sold you the device. But maybe ProJect as the manufacturer also will help you directly via warranty.

Your concern is misdirected. Most higher quality turntables are manual in nature and often do not reset the tonearm at the end of an album side. Pro-Ject is a high quality turntable. Last year, when I shopped turntables, I selected a Fluance RT85 over the Pro-Ject for precisely that reason. The Fluance has an auto-shut off, the Pro-Ject does not. Sonos is not at fault here. BTW I love my Fluance and if you are able to return your turntable I recommend that you take a look at Fluance.

I spoke with Tech support and apparently that’s how it’s made. It just would have been nice to know that before I dropped $500 on it...I guess I’m wrapping in the last 4 months as well. Probably shouldn't do that..lol

The spec is quite explicit. Maybe you should have done a bit more due diligence.
You may want to sell the one you have and buy a semi-automatic or automatic.

I am well versed in checking for operation type and coaching novice users on the differences between manual vs semi-automatic vs automatic when choosing a turntable.

Don't you find that commonly the difference is stated if at all an, erm, different versus the typical.
I have a Pro-Ject One. I love it. Automatic stop never crossed my mind. I remember when I had to turn an audio cassette myself. Equally a chore.
