Turntable connection to Sonos five

I recently got a Rega Planar 2 as well as a sonos 5 for my birthday. while trying to connect them I was told to go buy an RCA y cable and a pre amp. I bought both of those and plugged everything in. the sonos app identifies the turntable and it claims that there is noise coming out of it, however there is no sound to be heard. I cant find anything else online and I’ve been on hold for so long so I’m just reaching out here! thanks!

Double check all of your cable connections. In the Sonos app, under the Line-In settings for the Five, set the Autoplay Room to the room associated with the Five. Also adjust the Source Level to a setting that sounds good to your ears.

The Y-cable must be stereo and you’ll need a phono preamplifier. I don’t know if this model Turntable includes a built-in preamplifier.

I have a phono preamplifier because my turntable does not include a built in one.
