apologies if this has been asked many times but i’m struggling to find an answer even having read multiple messages i have 2 x sonos move and 2 x sonos one speakers we have a Marley bluetooth turntable and can only connect 1 speaker. do we need a different turntable or something else to play a turntable through all the speakers?

If you add one, or more, of the following speakers to your Sonos setup (devices listed in no particular order)…
- Roam/Roam SL
- Move 2
- Era 100
- Era 300
Then you can Bluetooth stream the TT audio to any of these listed newer speakers and whilst they are connected over the local network (wired, or wireless) to your Sonos One’s & Sonos Move’s you can either group all, or some, of the speakers together to playback the playing TT audio received from that TT. This however cannot be achieved with your current hardware until you add one of the listed newer devices to your Sonos system.
I’m not sure how reliable the grouped setup would be, it’s a case of trying these things to see how well they may work with your local network.

You can only connect via Bluetooth to one Move at a time. Sonos One’s are not Bluetooth capable. The confusion for most is that the Sonos One uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) during setup. After that’s done Bluetooth is not available as a connection option.,

thanks Ken so i add a new speaker to connect to the turntable then link this speaker to the others snd hey presto?? will the speakers then play in stereo?

The Move (gen1) and the One speakers are each mono when standalone, but you can stereo-pair each of them (2x One and 2 x Move) when on WiFi, to play the TT Bluetooth audio in stereo.

Yes, so on your WiFi network, if the 2 x One-SL’s are stereo paired and you have 2 x Sonos Moves also stereo paired, then both ‘pairs’ will each play the Bluetooth Audio in stereo. You simply group those two pairs with your new speaker (from the list I provided above) and Bluetooth pair that new speaker with your Turntable and it will playback on all your speakers.

Just to quickly mention aswell, if you do purchase a device direct from Sonos and you find it does not work with your turntable, then there is a period of return, money back guarantee. See this Sonos link for more information on that:

You can use either Bluetooth or Cable but note the Roam/Roam-SL speaker in my list does not have a line-in cable option, so that’s Bluetooth only. I recommend though using cable as the quality of the audio is much better and far more reliable as there are Sonos audio buffer options that help to cope with many home network conditions.
If you prefer the line-in method then this information below opens up some further options to you. So read it carefully;
If you want to connect a TT using Bluetooth and/or a wired connection will need to use a Sonos product that has a line-in or Bluetooth RX (Receiver) as follows…
- Sonos Port/Connect (no BT Rx)
- Sonos Amp/Connect:Amp (no BT Rx)**
- Five/Play:5 (gen2) (no BT Rx)**
- Era-100 (has BT Rx) (requires additional dongle)**
- Era-300 (has BT Rx) (requires additional dongle)**
- Sonos Move 2 (has BT Rx) (requires additional dongle)
- Sonos Roam/SL - has no line-in, but has BT Rx only
** Note: If any of the above compatible devices are used as a HT Surround, then their line-in port and Bluetooth Rx both become disabled.
Once the TT is connected it can play to any/all Sonos products - a line-in connection is the recommended/preferred option.

thought i’d update on progress. i bought the era100 connected it with the adapter cable and aux in cables, tt played with very easy set up. i then went onto connect the era to my other 2 x pairs of speakers which all happened very easily again. i had a little celebration then realised that one of each of the pairs wasn’t playing tried a few different things but no luck. rang sonos technical and after 30 mins with the technician having to dial remotely into my internet to make adjustments to my broadband router set up - success on all speakers!! works like a dream and exactly what i was looking for. So thank you Ken and Sonos technical it was worth the effort and much appreciated. so note it seems some routers need setting changes to get it working not all. mine is a BT one
