Thanks for the reply but I don’t see the instructions for setting up a pair of speakers in stereo mode. Maybe I missed it?

Creating a stereo pair.

The 3.5mm stereo Y-Cable will send stereo to the Line-In. If that speaker is part of a stereo pair, the pair will play the turntable in stereo. The speaker or pair is known as a “Room” in SONOS parlance. As other Rooms are Grouped with this Room, they will play in mono or stereo depending on their configuration.

HI I have same question - I was hoping I can use a a gen 2 Sonos Connect.

turntable has a pre-amp and RCA outputs - proposing to connect those into he RCA inputs on the Sonos Connect and then just play through my existing speakers around the house. Is that not possible?

About to buy a gen 2 Sonos Connect on eBay (Gen 2 as that’s compatible with S2 app).

Sonos advising me to go for a line in product like a Play 5 and connect a RCA to 3.5mm adapter from the turntable to the Play 5. Based on where I want the turntable (next to my TV and Sonos Playbar and 2x Sonos ones) it’s not really ideal having a PLay 5 there just to accommodate the line in.

Has anyone been able to play via Sonos speakers wireless from Connect?

Or even from a Connect Amp? I can buy one of those 2nd hand as well.

Looking at your profile I see you have listed speakers only compatible with the S1 app.

Do you have a pair of the same model speakers? A pair of Play 5 or Play 3s? You CANNOT create a stereo pair with different model speakers.

Hi, I have a pair of 5s. But I’m they’re from 2012 and I’m debating about getting a new pair. I’m trying to research how the newer ones might be better.

I've had Play 5 gen 1s and have a gen 2 now, never heard much different in the two but my hearing is bad.

Listened to a Five and didn't think I heard enough difference to upgrade.

Have you considered 300s and a Sub? I hear good things about that and streaming Atmos.

Good info on the 5s. We do have one that keeps going in and out at times. I’ve read about the 300 arcs/atmos. I think they might work well inside the speaker wells of the 1967 arteries console we’re refinishing

I don’t recommend 300’s in a bookshelf.

Younger ears often feel that FIVE’s have better mids and highs than PLAY:5. As always, only you know what sounds “best” (to you).
