Hello I just started using my Sonos era 100 and one for my turntable and for most artists/albums it sounds slightly high pitched and I’m not sure why it’s mostly in the voice especially for hip hop or r&b albums when using Spotify it’s sounds fine no issues has anyone had this issue or anything thanks

Bad sound from the line-in while streaming sound is good is almost always a problem with the connected devices or cables.

Have you verified the basics like tracking angle, stylus pressure and anti-skating?

If so then I'd start at the cartridge connections, verifying they are right and tight. The turntable to preamp cables can be a bit picky, make sure the ones you have meet the specifications on your cartridge. Not much you can do on the preamp other than the above switch setting. Preamp to the 3.5 input cables aren't as critical but trying a different one might show something.

You could play an album, submit a diagnostic and call Sonos support to verify the 3.5 to USB is working properly.

Which model turntable? Is it running at the correct speed? (A belt could be incorrectly installed)

It’s the audio technica AT-LP60X running at correct speed might be the belt but I’m not sure cause it’s installed correct

Is your phono preamp set to the proper MC or MM cartridge type?

I don’t know how long you’ve had your turntable so some of reasons mentioned below may or may not apply. However, you can read more at this link which is where the quote was copied from.

  • Vinyl records may sound high-pitched when there are problems within the setup. These issues could be a loose belt, an incorrect motor speed, an unreliable phono preamp, or simply a low-quality turntable.
