I’ve had a Sonos Connect Gen 2 for a few years that I got on eBay.  Have to say it’s been brilliant for utilising my Stereo speakers as part of the overall Sonos experience, though I did mainly buy it in the hope that it would be a way to get vinyl playing in every room.  I’ve read guides on how to best set my turntable up with the Connect, but ultimately it remains fine in the living room and only occasionally stutters out audio everywhere else.  I’ve read people say the Connect is pretty weak for vinyl overall.

Is the Port really that much better?  I don’t want to risk putting down all that money for one purpose, only to have the similar dropout woes.  As I say, the Connect does its job fine other than for vinyl.

If the audio stutters in other rooms with the Connection, it would probably do the same thing with the Port.

I use a Connect for my TT without any problems. If you are able to move the Connect closer to your router, or if you can hardwire it to your router for troubleshooting purposes, I recommend trying that to see if either one fixes your issue. If it does, you may have WiFi interference or a weak signal where the Connect is located.

Compression may help.

You have recently been posting about other issues that suggest an overall problem with your network environment. PORT’s more modern wireless capability is improved, compared to CONNECT, but it is not a given that the improved capability will be enough to work around your issue. I suggest that you submit a diagnostic immediately after an issue, then work with SONOS phone support.

I should point out that most of my speakers are wired via Ethernel, including the connect.

What did support suggest, when you submitted the diagnostic, and called in?
