hello

i’d love to integrate my 1210 with Sonos producds, can you please help me to select the right products and the tool to integrate.

thank you

Kent

By integrate i assume you mean you want to connect your Technics turntable to your Sonos system?

You’ll need a Sonos produce that can take aline in feed, such as a port, Play 5, Five, Era 100/300 or a Move2. I suspect the technics turntable will need a phono amp too.

Or they can use a Bluetooth connection to a Roam they list under their profile.

If you have passive speakers you would like to use, you can use a Sonos Amp and connect the speakers and turntable to the Amp.

Your profile shows that you only have Sonos Roam products. You can connect your Technics 1210 using the proprietary Sonos line-in adapter sold separately to Era 100(s). See it here

According to the Specs I read for the Technics 1210 it is not Bluetooth capable therefore the Line-in adapter is a must.

The Technics 1210 per its specs doesn't have a built-in Pre-amp which is required. You can find several on Amazon.

You will also need an RCA to 3.5mm cable also available on Amazon.

The connections would be as follows:

  • Technics 1210 RCA-Out > RCA-In of Pre-Amp > RCA-Out from Pre-Amp using RCA to 3.5mm cable > 3.5mm Input of Sonos Line-in adapter > USB-C of line-In adapter to USB-C input of Era 100.

Optional Speakers

  • Era 100’s either singularly or as a stereo pair. See Era 100 here.
  • Using Era 100 (single or two) is more cost effective than a Sonos Amp even if you already own passive speakers. IMO the Era 100 is also a better option (in your case) versus a Sonos Port and still less expensive.

The Line-In is not a must. A Bluetooth transmitter can easy be purchased.

In addition, the Roam does not support a Line-In connection.

Good catch. Got my lines crossed 😂

However, I prefer a good line in connection over BT even though as you say a BT transmitter is an option.
