Hi,

I bought the pro ject carbon vinyl player thinking it would connect straight up to my beam. I have 2 One SL as surrounds and a sub mini. I bought the beam circa 2021. Do I need to buy something to connect the record player to the Sonos system?

thsnks in advance

You will need to use a Sonos product that has a line-in port as follows…

  • Sonos Port/Connect  (compatible with the new Sonos App)
  • Amp/Connect:Amp (compatible with the new Sonos App)**
  • Five/Play:5 (gen2)**
  • Era-100 (requires additional dongle)**
  • Era-300 (requires additional dongle)**
  • Sonos Move 2 (requires additional dongle)

** Note: If any of the above compatible devices are used as a HT Surround, then their line-in port and any Bluetooth Rx both become disabled.

Once the TT is connected it can play to any/all Sonos products, including your Beam.

Here are links to the two Sonos adapters that are currently available to use (if required):

@Mjd4478

Hi,

you‘ll need a Sonos device that supports a line in.
That can be a Sonos Five, Port or Amp directly supporting an analogue cinch connection or an Era100, Era300 or Sonos Move2 supporting line in via the Sonos 3,5mm audio to usb c connector.

Yes.

While this question has been asked and answered many times before, here are the ways you can listen to your records through the HT system:

A Port

An Era 100 with the Sonos line in adapter

An Era 300 with the Sonos line in adapter

A Five

A Connect S15

@Ken_Griffiths

Hi Ken,

Arc Ultra isn‘t on the list of supported devices for line in adapter and as far as I know it hasn’t got an usb c port.
Thanks for mentioning the older S2 devices supporting line in. 👍🏻

Ah my mistake, I copied that device list from my Notes which included Bluetooth connections from Turntables - I will go back and remove it from my post (if if lets me). Thanks @Schlumpf👍

I am in the middle of doing the same, have you bought a phono stage? My Pro Ject Carbon doesn’t have one so bought a separate one and will connect that to the Era 100 ( eventually I will buy a port)

Here is the Sonos Support line-in article, links to Settings and Audio Compression articles too.

It is missing the Connect devices that are S2 compatible.
