Move 2 not working with turntable

Hello. I purchased the Move 2 about a year ago now. During this time, I have been trying to use the speaker with various Audio-Technica turntables. When playing music, there is typically a 30-90 second delay before the speaker starts to play sound. In some cases, it won’t play at all until manually triggered using the Sonos app (iOS).

I have reached out to Sonos support, & they sent a replacement USB-C Line-In adapter. Unfortunately, this did not resolve the issue. I have also tried changing all settings available in the Sonos app including different audio levels for the input. Any help would be appreciated!

I haven’t used this exact mode of operation. I suppose that the MOVE could be in some stage of sleep. A diagnostic will show this. You’ll need to work with SONOS support because we don’t have access to the diagnostics.

Are you attempting to use Autoplay?

Will a record play promptly if you manually select the turntable as the input?

Once play finally starts, are there any interruptions?

30-90 seconds for Autiplay seems excessive to me, but I can imagine that a track that starts very quietly might not key Autoplay. Do you feel that the overall level is reasonable? A very low output cartridge could be an issue, but you would likely notice this because it will require high Volume control settings.

Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon is one of the most difficult albums for Autoplay.

The overall level is fine. I have actually noticed better performance when the Move 2 is on its charging base. Could there be an issue when the speaker is running on battery? I have confirmed that the device is not asleep.

I doubt that the charging base contributes much, if anything, but the physical location of the charging base might be in the mix. Is the MOVE 2 Grouped with anything?

No, I have no other Sonos products grouped. I was thinking that the Sonos acts differently when on battery. Perhaps using some power-saving function? Or confusing the turntable with a charger?
