low turntable volume sonos 5 and One

My config is a Sonos5 and Sonos One with a Technics SL23 (just completely rebuilt and certified) and a phono preamp.  The output from the 5 is very low and there is no audio from the One.  The room is configured correctly as using Pandora works just fine with music well balanced between the speakers.

any help is appreciated

Tap on the settings icon, then the room with the Five. Scroll to the Line In section and tap “Source Level”. Select 8, 9 or 10 depending on your preamp. At level 10 there is normally some distortion, so kick it back until it goes away.

Mine is set to 9.

Have you tried adjusting the Line-In Source Level within the 5’s settings?

Also check to be sure the preamp is set to match your cartridge type, MC or MM.
