Hi All,

I have bought a new turntable and 2 Era 100 speakers. All working well with bluetooth but I also bought 1 Line in Adapter which I haven’t used yet.

Is it worth me connecting the Line in Adapter and why?

Also if I use the Line in Adapter for one of the speakers beside my vinyl player do I do anything else for the other Era 100 speaker? Does 1 Line in Adapter work for both or would I continue to use Bluetooth for the other?

Many thanks

You only need a single Line in adapter per external device (Turntable, CD player, Tape deck etc).  Once it is connected to the Speaker it can be played on ANY speaker in your Sonos set up.

Also the speaker the Line in device is connected to does not have to be playing the Line in but can be playing from a different source whilst the device connected to the Line in could be playing on a speaker in another room.

Its easiest to imagine the Line in USB socket as a Separate Sonos port equivalent.  You get full flexibility.

One thing to bear in mind though… If you use any speaker that has a Line in, as a Surround for a Beam, ARC etc, the Line in on those surrounds will no longer work.

You may be able to hear a quality difference if your Bluetooth setup is not passign full quality sound to the Era. Worth playing with too see if there is enough difference to matter to you.

Can't comment beyond that as I don't use the external inputs here.

I’m trying to do the same thing. Connections look good but not getting any sound. Sonos service worked with me for a while but no luck. Anybody having a similar problem?

Are you saying you now get no sound from any source?
re the turntable: are you using the Sonos adaptor or one sourced elsewhere?
