connecting amp to surround setup

I have a the Sonos Amp and I’m trying to connect it to my surround setup, which consists of the beam, 2 era 100’s and sub mini. I have a U-turn orbit turntable it has a built in preamp and I’m using av cables. I’ve tried to setting up the amp as a part a surround system with just my beam and sub and nothing plays. I even tried grouping it by having the amp by itself and having my beam, eras, and sub as one system and still nothing. It doesn’t give me the option to add the amp to the system. Any suggestions?

Open the controller and verify it is showing your initial, Sonos System.

Factory Reset the Amp.and follow these steps.

Once the Amp is added select it in the controller and try streaming something from it to your connection ted speakers.

If that works try playing a record and see if that works.

If that fails it is time to contact Sonos support, a phone call is usually best.

I’m a little confused. You state you already have two surrounds, the Era 100s. This means you shouldn’t be able to add other surrounds, but you should be able to set up the Amp as another ‘room’ in the Sonos system, by using the ‘add a device’ functionality in the controller.

The Amp, when used to ‘push’ surrounds, turns off any line in functionality. If set up as another ‘room’ in your system, though, there’s definitely line in should work.

Are you intending to replace your current surround speakers?

Oh, I missed one thing… your U turn Orbit turntable…you need to ensure the pre-amp is toggled on. The output should be set to ‘line’ and not ‘phono’. The Sonos Amp is looking for a line level input, the phono level is too low.

Sorry for the confusion but made 2 systems to attempt to make it work. So the first setup was the beam , sub, and amp. And then the other was setup as its own room with the era 100s so I tried grouping them to see if that worked and it didn’t. The second attempt was when I had the beam, sub, and the era 100s in one system and I set the amp in its own room and tried grouping it like that, and no luck. The turntable preamp is on and I even tried it off.
