Newbie here, I just got an audio-technica turntable (AT-LP3XBT). It has Bluetooth capabilities and I’m trying to connect it to my Sonos Arc. Is it possible to connect the turntable to the Arc directly and without having to purchase another speaker?

No, not directly, as the Arc has no line-in or Bluetooth. See the following…

You ideally need to use a Sonos product that has a line-in, or Bluetooth Receiver (Rx) as follows…

  • Port/Connect (no BT Rx)
  • Amp/Connect:Amp (no BT Rx)**
  • Five/Play:5 (gen2) (no BT Rx)**
  • Era-100 (has BT Rx) (requires additional dongle)**
  • Era-300 (has BT Rx) (requires additional dongle)**
  • Sonos Move 2 (has BT Rx) (requires additional dongle)
  • Sonos Roam/SL - has no line-in, but has BT Rx only

** Note: If any of the above compatible devices are used as a HT Surround, then their line-in port and Bluetooth Rx both become disabled.

Once the TT is connected it can play to any/all Sonos products - a line-in connection is the recommended/preferred option.

Here are links to the two Sonos adapters that are currently available to use (if required):

This next link is also worth reading as it supplies a lot of good information about using a Turntable with Sonos speakers…

No.  The Arc lacks Bluetooth or Line-In, which would be the two ways of connecting your turntable.  You would need a Sonos device with either of those.  For Bluetooth, the Move 2, Roam, or either Era models.  For Line-In, the Port, Amp, Five, or either Era with the Line-In dongle accessory.

Just a thought, does your TV offer an input you could hook the turntable to?

Long-term you’d want something better but it would get you going now.

I am planning on setting up 2 Era100s in a stereo pair in 1 room

BT Turntable will connect to this Era100 pair - will I be able to play music from Turntable to my Arc+sub in a different room without the Era100s having to play ?

Wait, so I can’t connect my TT to any of the equipment being used for my TV surround sound? Arc, Era 300, Subwoofer?

Right, Surrounds do not support input connections.

Sub doesn’t have an input in any mode.
