Anything with a Line-In will work, including the Era 100 w/ the special Sonos adapter.  Note:  Generic 3.5mm to USB-C adapters are digital in to analog out; only the Sonos adapter is analog in to digital out, which is why a generic adapter will not work. 

You also need a phono pre-amp, either built-in to the turntable, or external if the turntable doesn’t have one.

Hey @kelboy . I have a sonos in every room, and all 4 tv’s plus 2 rooms with Bose in-wall speakers. I have a turntable in my office hooked into a play 5, ,that in turn distributes the sound to the entire home. The turntable ia an Audio-Technnica AP-LT60XBT. The Sonos Play 5 connects to it by Analog out 3.5mm Aux jack.

@GenX'er  does your audio technica have pre amp built in?   i may have to go and buy the era 100 again😂 and the original sonos adaptor,

You need the one sold by Sonos.  As to a pre-amp, get anything in your budget.  RIAA mastering technology has been around for almost 100 years, it’s pretty much perfected and commoditized today, and there’s nothing to gain from buying exorbitant “audiophile” pre-amps except for an empty wallet.
