Connect Technics SA-C600 via 3.5mm output to Sonos network

The Technics SA-C600 seems like an ideal candidate as a multi-function component in my ideal audio system. It’s a network streamer, CD player, radio and turntable-ready all in one package. I have a Sonos Ray that I got as a starting point for a Sonos speaker system and I wanted to understand if:

  1. I can connect the Technics SA-C600 to a Sonos Era 100/300 or Five via the 3.5mm headphone jack on the front through the Sonos line-in adapter and an additional third-party connector
  2. I can extend audio input to the Era 100/300/Five via the line-in to the Ray over wifi?

This post points out the lack of a line out on the back of the Technics unit but the spec list and photos here indicate 3.5mm output exists. Thanks!

In regard to your first point, this should work but make sure that the Line-In does not go into a surround speaker, as the port de-activates when the product is part of a Home Theater setup as surround.

For your second point, yes you can group the Sonos Era 100/300 or Five (or any other Line-In compatible Sonos product) with your Sonos Ray and have Line-In audio play there via WiFi.

I hope this helps.

Using an analogue in on Sonos introduces a 75Ms delay on the grouped speaker, so it might not be good to have the Technics and Sonos playing music in the same room.
