I’m looking to buy a bluetooth turntable with built-in pre-amp. I’m looking for a lower-cost solution than buying the Sonos Amp (for now), and I have a 3-part question:

 

1) I realize that I need to connect the turntable to a Sonos speaker with a line-in port. I’m thinking of buying an Era100 for this. But I want to make sure that I would also be able to pipe the music from the turntable throughout the whole house by grouping the Era100 with my other speakers. Can someone confirm that’s possible?

 

2) I have a Roam speaker. If I instead connected the turntable via Bluetooth to the Roam (instead of buying an Era100), could I also group the Roam with the other speakers in the house so I can hear the music in other rooms?

 

3) I have the Arc + Sub in our media room. Could I also group those into the speaker set where I’m playing music from the turntable, or is that not possible or practical? As you can probably tell, one of my priorities is to be able to easily listen to vinyl anywhere around the house.

Yes to all three questions. 

I’d prefer the wired connection over Bluetooth.

Another inexpensive option, if you don’t need another speaker is an S2 compatible Connect that will give you the line-in you need. That is the previous generation of what is now the Port.

And thanks, @Stanley_4 !  I know I have an old Connect somewhere from when I bought my first Sonos speaker 10 years ago. Need to find it! If I do, is it a simple matter of connecting the turntable to the Connect unit and then Sonos will recognize it?

Yes, it‘s quite easy to connect the turntable to the cennect. But if your connect is an old one before 2015 it can only be used with S1 software. If the rest of your speakers is on S2, you can’t use the Connect together with your S2 devices. 
Besides even the S2 compatible Connect is hard at its hardware limits and often runs into S2 problems. 
I won‘t give it a chance anymore. 

@Schlumpf, good to know! It’s definitely older than 2015. So that’s not going to work. How does one get a hold of an S2-compatible connect? I see a few for sale on eBay.

Check around, maybe even a local thrift store or community sales list. I’ve had good luck with ebay for other tech purchases and they seem good about dealing with products not properly listed.

You might also look for a Connect that has not had the 30% rebate activated, once you register it to your accounts you’d be able to use that on a future Sonos purchase.
