Music Library


I followed the instructions for the 913 error and share my music folder in my OneDrive. I added it to my Music Library and I updated the music library. My Playlists are showing and playing. When I go to Music Library, there is nothing - nothing showing under artists, nothing showing under albums. This is so damn frustrating.

 Looked at your path closer ( my eyes aren’t that good ).  Sonos does not share from a cloud-based service like Onedrive.  Try sharing the folder on your computer that contains your music.

Might be a tagging issue, each music file must have the proper tags to show up in the lists.

Try the “Folder View” option and see if they are there.

If they are look for some good tagging software, possibly one that will automatically import the needed tags.

Thx - I had tried that. Still nothing. All of my playlists show and are accessing the music, but none of the albums or artists show in the Music Library.

 When you say “playlists” do you mean playlists created using tracks in your Music Library?  How can they play when you are unable to find your Music Library in the Sonos app??

You hit the nail right on the head. I had created my playlists months ago using my Music Library. They all work. However, when I go to the Music Library, none of the albums or artists are showing up. I get a message that says: “No selections are available.” I search for an artist and I get: “Search returned no results.” I tried to go to the Folder, same result. I did an Update Music Library Now, and nothing changed.

 That’s weird!  Is the playlist folder in the same root folder as the music files?  If you look in Folder view can you see the Playlist folder?

Under “Select a Music Source” I have Sonos Favorites, Music Library, Sonos Radio, and Sonos Playlists.

Under Sonos Playlists are all of my Playlists and they work fine.

There is nothing under Music Library

This is on the Windows App on my computer. I get the same issue on my phone (Android) phone app.

 Ohhh … Those are Sonos Playlists.  I was thinking they were M3U playlists you created and have stored in your Music Library share folder.  Where is your Music Library share folder?  Is Music Library listed under Your Sources in the Android phone app?  Can you post a picture of your Music Library path statement in Music Library Settings in the Windows app or in the Android app Settings ( gear icon ) - Manage - Music Library.  Sounds like your library did not index properly.

 

 The screenshots are from IOS.  Don’t know if Android is different.

This is what the window looks like in the Windows App. Note the Music Library. When i go to that, there is nothing. If I go to Sonos Playlists, it shows all of my playlists and the song titles. All of my music is stored on my OneDrive and on my hard drive. This has never happened before.

 Can you post a screenshot of the path to your library in the Windows app.  Look in Manage tab - Music Library Settings.  Maybe the folder with your music in it needs to be set up for sharing again as only the 3rd option can be used when adding a new share.  That 3rd option is Networked device (ex. NAS drive).  The other two no longer work.

 this seemed to work best for me when I set up two experimental shares on my Windows 10 desktop.

 Sorry did not at first see your share path.  Looks OK.  One way to know for sure if it’s correct is to look at the share folders Properties - Sharing tab.  The path that should be used is directly under the Share button in the Sharing screen.

 When you try to index does it give any errors?  Does it finish too quickly?

Thanks - I did that too and the same problem. I am about to the end of my rope with this and ready to dump the Sonos and go with something that has a controller that does not have all of these issues. It has been constant over the past few years. Everytime there is a system update of a windows update, I seem to have to reconfigure.

 I’ve never used OneDrive.  Is “OneDrive”, in your path statement, a folder that contains all your music?  Is there another folder on your Windows PC that also contains all your music?
