Trying to set up a new Symfonisk to an existing network, and it won't finalize the connection. Any ideas or suggestions?
Just got a new Symfonisk and trying to connect it to my system. Currently have a Playbar + Sub set up in a TV room and a Five in the the living room.
Have been going through the new app to set up the Symfonisk and have tried almost everything. Have had it do the chimes, though won’t finalize. Have typed the device number after that, which always fails. Have connected to the router via Ethernet directly, using a new connection and even using the ethernet cable I have set up with the Playbar. All fails.
I’m ready to smash this thing out of frustration and the small satisfaction I may get. This is truly horrible, and Sonos Support gives me a bot that only repeats itself with no actual solutions/suggestions and a phone number that has an 80minute wait.
Really hoping someone has a suggestion or maybe has gone through similar and had success.

This thread is a sorry tale of a once great company intent on committing harakiri at the expense of old and new customers.
A total disgrace to treat users with this level distain.
Meanwhile, you are encouraged to pre-order the *N*E*W* Bluetooth headphones to further enhance your Sonos experience.
They are treating us as fools

Hi guys,
I FINALLY MANAGE TO LINK MY SONOS ONE! Here are the steps I’ve followed.
Updated the app on an Android phone
Started the setup which fails during the update of my Sonos One
Installed the Sonos App on windows where the update works but then fails to register
Switched back to the app and CABLED the product with an ethernet cable.
MIRACLE.
Hope this is helpful for you guys
Ok guys I’ve got mine working too!
Here’s what I did:
Used the iOS app to get the picture frame to the point it was ‘Not registered’ and I was stuck in the ‘Fix it’ loop that I know everyone is experiencing now.
Went on my PC and used the Sonos app (not the web app, the one you download and install)
I did any updates that the PC app was asking me to do.
Then I went back on my phone and it allowed to me to register it, skipping the other screens that were coming up previously.

Easy!
This is all I get now after the update, anyone else getting the same?

I kept getting this, but after shutting down the app a few times and power cycling the picture frame it worked for me.

I used the Ethernet cable, which did get the system to recognize the device. There was an error after that, though I had success using a Sonos app on an old phone that had not been updated, and others recommend the PC/Mac App to register/update.
Finally got my Ikea Bookshelf gen 2 working!
Using ios app version 80.01.11 and Sonos controller for PC 16.2 build 79052294.
I started reinstalling app on ios and logging in.
Connected power to speaker and using wifi.
Got to the stage where the ios app asks to use network cable.
Plugged it in to the router and continued.
Now it got all the way to showing error 1002.
Since I had read the previous posts in the thread I switched to windows app now that detected an update was needed.
After the update was done I switched back to the ios app which now showed the speaker in the list of devices but unregistred. And its says fix it. (I still have the network cable in the speaker.)
It plays the sounds and the phone buzzes and the lights on the speaker flashes white and green and a dialog on the phone says press play/pause.
I did that but it did not detect the key press on the speaker.
Tried this for quite a while. Then I pulled the plug on the speaker and restarted it by chance.
I go back to the register and fix it dialog and this time after the sounds been played it says Press play/pause AND plus button!!! I do this and it FINALLY CONNECTS!
I unplug the network cable. Restart router. Move the speaker to its intented place. Restarts everything. Speaker is detected and WORKS!
Hopefully they will simplify the process. Still using my Symfonisk as a nice BOOKSHELF only…
I can now identify the table lamp in the Sonos app. “Table lamp is not registered” but the ‘fix it’ option never works, despite all troubleshooting tactics mentioned above. I can actually play music on the speaker right now via airplay as the speaker shows up as “unnamed room”, but the Sonos app still refuses to acknowledge it. Pretty bad app design lol.

I had that, but turned the lamp off at the wall for 30 secs, turned it back on and just left it. Eventually it just connected. It seems it just didn’t want to connect immediately…

These steps worked like a charm!
I wasted 3 hours of my life trying to add two brand new bookshelf gen 2 speakers to our Dental office’s existing Sonos system using the iOS app until I utilized the Sonos Windows app to update the firmware on the new units. Still a very clunky process, but can confirm the workaround does work! Thanks again!
Mods should extract and sticky this.

Tried this many times, still get the same error over and over.

I did the procedure with Sonos controller installed on Imac and now my Simfonisk has been added to the sonos network and is running perfectly ( my network is composed by Sonos roam and 3 simfonisk IKEA)
To clarify , tge simfonisk need to be updated in order to be connected trough new Sonos app , and this is only possibletrogh the cable connection and the sonos controller from mac or pc.
I solved it in the following way! (I'm using Google Translate. It may be wrong English, sorry)
bookshelf A: Already connected bookshelf B: Unable to connect
Both versions have been updated to the latest version using the Windows app in advance.
①Restore speaker B to factory settings (restart while holding down the play/stop button) ②Reinstall the iOS app ③ Select "Create a new environment" on the iOS app and perform the operation to connect speaker B. ④Speaker B was successfully connected without any problems. (Although the chime sound was not detected, the connection was successfully established by entering the PIN) → However, speaker A is no longer displayed from the app. ⑤ Next, restore speaker A to its factory settings. ⑥ Add speaker A using the iOS app → Connection succeeded
Finally it works. I had some quirks to get the speaker to play on WIFI. But eventually I succeeded. I used a windows machine for the update. However, the iOS app actually detected that there was an update. But at that time I chose to update via the windows app.
ETHERNET connection worked flawlessly. I then had to reset the speaker after update over Ethernet to find it again on iOS app and connect it to my WIFI.
Still NOT working!! Sonos app updated new version today. Managed to get through all the way including updating the speaker. But the speaker, symfonisk picture doesn’t show in the app sonos anywhere!!!! Been doing this for 3 weeks now!!!!! So frustrating!!!
After resetting the speaker (symfonsisk picture) to fabric settings and rebooting everything else (phone, WiFi, sonos app reinstalled) starting installation with Ethernetcable connected the installation went through without asking me to update the speaker. At first it didn’t show up in the app but after restarting it it came up and I can finally after 3 weeks of struggle use the speaker. Everything done on my iPhone. Still doesn’t show up on ikea home app….
Wow, so I have just bought a new symfonisk today and now beginning to wish I hadn't!!
so I have a mix of sonos 1s, a roam and 1 symfonisk bookshelf, the new one is to make a setero pair with the existing one.
I have the latest version of android app from June3rd,
80.02.05 release +20240603.d1da1be
Can anyone confirm if this is going to work out of the box on wifi, or am I facing the crazy prospect of messing around for hours like everyone else in this thread?
Cheers, heres hoping, PS, the new app is a total disaster, just adding my vote.
While can’t promise a out of the box success, I do think there are quite a few that have found solutions. Hopefully, its even a bit better than what we all did with newer updates.
The latest Sonos app update resolved the issue for me. After updating the app today, I had to factory reset the symfonisk table lamp and then re-connect it successfully. System is now working correctly - all good.
Great thanks, I'll give it a try
All good, added without any drama, think latest update might have put this glaring error to bed.
