Speaker dropouts making me Frustrated 😬

Hi

I have a play bar a sub a bridge a play3 and 5 play1 in various rooms.

My problem is that often usually when we have a party , the system plays up like 1 speaker will drop off then 2 then the whole system will drop off then it comes back on its own then when we think it’s safe to start dancing again it will drop.
The whole system is over 10 years old so I can only use S1 and the bridge firmware will not update.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many posts on here suggest bridge power supplies are failing and causing problems. Take it out of your system and plug a (not surround or Sub) speaker into Ethernet. See how that goes.
But, if you’re using much on WiFi, human bodies do have a great trick of blocking WiFi signals.

In addition to that excellent advice, I’d be tempted to do a network refresh of your system by unplugging all Sonos devices from power, then rebooting your router. Give the router a couple of minutes to come back up, then plug back in your Sonos devices to power. Give them a couple of minutes to reboot and reconnect, then open your controller (S1 or S2, you don’t say which you’re using) and check for updates, and apply them. Finally, test.

You won’t be able to test, at least easily, with a bunch of bodies in the room, absorbing WiFi signals, but you should be able to check that your system is up and running.Â
